I’d like a nice breakfast at home and a peaceful day somewhere outside where I didn’t have to plan what everyone is going to eat. And I’d love a dessert made by the kids because it would make them so excited.
I hope I make MIL somehow feel special and that my family does something nice enough for me to satisfy my mother when we call her.

I have a bunch of gift cards left from Christmas and my birthday. My requested gift is an afternoon by myself to go shopping. I can't wait to just wander, try things on, and sip on some coffee. It's going to be amazing! I might get a pedicure while I'm out and about too.
Mothers Day itself will be spent running around from one family member's to the next. My husband keeps asking my opinion on things. I told him that I don't care what we do. I just don't want to organize it.

Flowers and a card and a little sign I saw for like $3 that says "home is where mom is"

I'd like to spend the day together outdoors somewhere pretty - maybe one of our local botanical gardens. Then maybe lunch out somewhere afterwards. Sleeping in is a must, and then an afternoon nap would be a cherry on top.
I might have to plan it, but I think I'll get all these things. I'll be 11 weeks pregnant then and just want to have a nice day together without having to rush around to plan too much myself. I *think* my husband will take my daughter to pick out flowers for me, as that's their usual gift (which I super duper love).

My birthday has always been close to mother's day and as a result we kind of lump it all together now. I'm not super into celebrations or gifts, so DH got me a super practical Instant Pot last month as an early present.
Day of, I'll settle for just sleeping in and some baking time in the kitchen. Rolls, cake or some delicious pastry. Maybe candy. We'll see.

Yesterday my sister offered to watch F on mother’s day so my husband and I could do something. Which is very sweet but also kind of hilarious. Like, “for mother’s day, I’d like to give you a break from your child.”

It’s probably too short notice now, but I’d like a new wedding ring. Mine was stolen when I was taken back for a c-section almost a year ago.
Other than that, just a lazy Sunday close to home. I’m not very sentimental, and my parents aren’t alive.

It’s also our anniversary weekend so we are going away to a super nice hotel in Nashville for the weekend. Don’t need anything else!

@pachamama: that mug made me LOL.
I'd like to "sleep in" til about 7. I want donuts from the good donut place and then maybe to take a walk around the city somewhere new. I already booked myself a massage at bedtime so I can skip bedtime duties. And I want to not cook dinner, so either DH can do it or we can get takeout.

Yep, I know DH well. Just delivered. LO loves the balloons. I’m looking forward to a low key tomorrow.

I’m in SF with my sister and both our families. It’s also my birthday week. It’s all I wanted.

OMG, I got my sleep-in day Granted, I only got it because I've got a bad cold and can't do any of the stuff we planned today, but so grateful anyway. DH has taken the kids to class and then to his mom's, and done most of the chores so I have only a couple of things to worry about. So nice!!!

Neither dh nor I am home. Actually he has worked most mothers days since I got pregnant with my first/became a mom. There was something for the house he "let" me order this year for lack of better words atm. I'm still in the camp that Mother's Day is about our moms so tbh I don't think much about it! I guess I keep thinking when our kids are grown they'll celebrate it with/for me... but reading this now I'm thinking they'll have their own kids and want to celebrate themselves. 🤷♀️

I cosleep with my 4yo and need him to start sleeping in his own (new!) room because we are expecting twins in about 9 weeks.
He fell asleep in his room for the first time last night! And then climbed into bed with me at 1:15am, which was ok for a first try.
He usually sleeps til around 7:30 or 8. This morning he woke me up at 6 to tell me he had wet the bed. So I had to get up to change him and strip the sheets. (My husband sleeps in a different room from me because he snores.) Anyway, I was annoyed that I got woken up so early, but then he fell back to sleep until around 8 or 8:30. So I got to sit on the couch by myself listening to some music and zoning out on my phone and eating breakfast and drinking coffee. It was awesome.
Then we had to get ready to host our parents and my sister, but my husband cooked an amazing brunch: Homemade French toast with roasted apples, quiche from scratch including the crust, and fresh squeezed orange juice
