I have a really hard time with this as well. Depending on the style I do achambray shirt if I need a layer. Or nothing! They are kind of statements in their own so I typically don’t do much for accessories.

You mean shoes? Right now I’m wearing these because at 6m+ pregnant I need more support (and less straps, thanks swelling) than the gladiator style I might usually choose. I actually like them a lot!

ETA if you don’t mean shoes I have no ideas

Agree with @Miss Flamingo: on chambray shirt. Or I think a sleeveless denim jacket was a thing to put them with but idk if still in style?

@bhbee: tops
@Miss Flamingo: @petitenoisette: so a t-shirt? and then a chambray top? Is it open? Do you tie it? Do you tuck it in?

@Mamaof2: haha! It’s going to be 100s here starting next week so my brain can’t process layering

@bhbee: I assumed she meant shoes as well. I don't wear anything with my maxis because I only wear them in the spring/summer when it's hot as Hades here.

I think you mean maxi skirts and not full dresses? I'd go with a t-shirt or a tank and a jean jacket. I like to wear long necklaces and sandals.
If you're talking about a maxi dress, I'd just go with the jean jacket, long necklace and sandals. Check out maxi skirt/dress outfits on pinterest!

I have worn maxi dresses to work in the spring before and since mine are mostly tank style, I wear them with a cropped short sleeved cardigan that I reserve just for this purpose.

If it's hot as hades, I don't wear anything over them. If I do want a cover up, my go to is a denim jacket (linked below). For shoes, usually sandals (a pair is also linked below).

@Mamaof2: Ah ha...I think everyone thinks of maxis as dresses
For skirts, I always tuck in the shirt. I think it looks cuter. Pairing with a sweater or jacket isn't necessary, but if it's cooler, that's where you can dress it up or down.

@Mamaof2: I have such a hard time with maxi skirts because it’s so easy to look frumpy or way too covered up. When I was pregnant it looks cute with a maxi skirt and fitted tank top, denim jacket on top of it’s cool. But if my tank is fitted enough to not look frumpy, often it highlights my softer lower belly in a much less cute way when I’m not pregnant. I think a fitted tank and denim jacket looks nice but I don’t like to wear a denim jacket inside.
