Both my dad and Bee's dad are "Grandpa." Bee's mom is "Grandma" and my mom is "Obaachan" (Japanese for Grandma).
None of our parents requested any particular name... they just sort of happened!

both sets of grandparents are grandma and grandpa. we invited them to come up with something, but they had no preference and DD had no issue saying either one, so that's what they are since she's the only grandkid for now!

FIL chose Papa Ray, SMIL is younger and not big on being a grandmother, so she just wants to go by her name. My dad wants Granddaddy. My stepmom hasn't decided yet, so it may wind up being decided by LO. My mom claimed Nana. Don't recall what MIL uses, or SFIL.

MIL: guagua (sounds like "gwah-gwah")
FIL: pop-pop
SMIL: keeps trying to force LO to call her grammy, so she's fairly nameless now.

We refer to my parents Grandma and Grandpa, and my MIL is Oma. (She was born in Germany, and that was also my husband's name for his maternal grandmother.)
My 14mo calls my dad Papa, doesn't really have a name for my mom, and consistently says Oma when he sees pictures of my MIL.
So, I don't know if Grandma and Grandpa will stick, but I am not especially concerned.

Chinese has two sets of different names for grandparents of both sides so I'm assuming that's what she'll be calling them! Hopefully she can at least speak that much Chinese haha!

MIL originally wanted to be Nana also but ended up being Nana Jan because my mom's name is difficult to say. She didn't like Nana Jan so she changed it to Grandma.

@snowjewelz: DS calls my parents by their chinese titles! Sometimes I wonder how I'm going to remember how to call all the cousins, aunts and uncles, etc. when all the parents are no longer here. I can't remember rather to call someone ah yee or ah goo etc. I know it's dependent on which side of the family they're from, but it's still a lot to remember!
My parents: Their titles in Chinese (paw paw and gohng gohng)
DH's parents; Their titles in Khmer (maah and gong)

@Alivoo01: I'm switching to the American way for all the other titles haha! My parents walked me through it once and I already forgot 100%.
