With fall/winter approaching, I'm curious what fruits and vegetables are good to freeze and use during the winter months. Share what you freeze!

We don't freeze anything! I usually buy what's local and in season.

We just buy foods already frozen! I would only freeze my own if i grew it myself....frozen foods are cheaper than fresh and have higher nitritional value usually

I shredded zucchini for bread and adding into meat. Also want to can some applesauce (will just freeze, not pasteurize). Also freezer jam! If I end up with a bunch of spinach I might freeze that.
@QBbride: lucky! If we are only local we'd be eating snow six months a year.

@jedeve: haha that's true! I was going to add it's really mild here so there are lots of things that grow year round.

I usually buy a bushel of plum tomatoes when they're cheap at the end of the season, make them into tomato sauce, and freeze that. Otherwise I only freeze stuff if it's been in the fridge for a while and it's going to go bad.

I only freeze our bell peppers and roma tomatoes. Everything else we eat!

Hmm I'm in California so we have local fruits and vegetables year around. I didn't even realize that people froze produce for the winter. There are a handful of vegetables I buy already frozen though (peas, spinach, broccoli, onions)

We are going to can and dehydrate mist of what we grew this year.
@jedeve: snow, love this. Us too.
I'm thinking grated zucchini portioned out would be good to freeze since we can only eat so much.

@QBbride: that's us too. Besides, my freezer is tiny so I have to save room for everyday stuff.

the only time I freeze fruit is if its about to go bad - then I use it in smoothies

I don't freeze too much, normally just bananas if they are going to go bad and save them for banana bread. Otherwise we can stuff! I would rather store that, then find room in our freezer!

we freeze seasonal fruits mostly - strawberries, peaches, watermelon stuff that's hard to find in the winter and is good in smoothies or crumbles.
I don't generally bother freezing veggies but do sometimes can tomatoes, etc.
