There is a lot of negativity in the world lately and I am just having one of those days, so why not have a thread about positive things?
So, what is making you happy today? And good news to share?

@mrskansas: that's great!
DS brought home his school journal yesterday so I was reading thru it and one page he had to list facts about his mom and one said "she loves me a bus load"
Yes I do

Excited for dinner with a friend and her kiddos at OSF tonight while our spouses are working.
Last night I put T down and she said Night Night Mommy. So sweet.

DD and I are pretending to be robots at breakfast and we're both cracking up.

This food. Now that DS is in school 4 mornings I run a couple errands then sit and have real breakfast and hot coffee alone before I get him. It's glorious. I used to not eat until his nap at noon.
Also, DH and I have been having a great week. Just really connecting and spending time together. It's just had me on a high for a few days.
And DS yesterday said "I love you" on his own, not in return to me saying it. I think about it and tear up. I keep thinking THIS is what parenting is all about

The baby won't sleep unless I hold her but DH gets home tonight. So I will have survived my first time being solo with two.

We have tickets to see Hamilton tonight! Though I've officially started dilating, according to my ob yesterday, so I need this baby to hold on a little longer so we can make it to the show first, lol

The only thing I can think of (sry, very sleep deprived right now!) is that my toddler is at daycare, DH went out so I am left alone which is not rare these days! And finally able to put my baby down so I can get on the computer.

My LO's 1st bday is on Friday. I'm taking the day off work and we have a great day planned: time at the park with friends, a bike ride in the new bike trailer (bday present), water play on the new water table (bday present), and playing with Jello & pudding.

We just scored an NES classic online... it was on both DH and my Christmas lists, but we weren't willing to pay over retail.

I made it to work without going into a ditch or stalling in the middle of an intersection. Hooray for snow!

It's a snow day today and I'm actually having a really productive and fun day with the girls

DD was up for several hours last night (boo!) but then slept in this morning until 830 (yay!) And I'll be drinking coffee shortly! And she wasn't too upset last night when she asked to nurse and I refused.

- I lost 3lb this week (38 down, 6 to go)
- I saw my heavily pregnant BFF today and she's just gorgeous! I'm so excited for her new baby!
- E's behaviour has been so good recently. She's adorable when she's not being a monster!
- I've been offered a new job!
- DH convinced me to watch Game of Thrones and it's awesome! Hopefully going to watch more tonight.

I'm 10lbs below my first pre-pregnancy weight (so my weight from 5 years ago) and DH brought me a coffee at lunch today.

I got to go to Fairway (the grocery store) by myself. And i got a peloton bike and it is life changing.
pear / 1677 posts
@Littlebit7: Those Peloton commercials are intriguing. I don't cycle for workouts, but they looked cool!
nectarine / 2243 posts
@madisonbee: I really didn't either. I had been to a few spin classes here and there, but I definitely wasn't using my gym membership, especially in winter. (I typically run in the spring/summer but its hard on my body). I realized I needed something I was able and motivated to use at home. Its a big up front cost, but cheaper than spin/babysitting/gym in my area (metro NYC)

@Littlebit7: Let me know how you like it once you get going on it. DH has been considering getting a bike and the commercials are sucking him in.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@madisonbee: @Littlebit7: My husband never took a spin class in his life. But his best friend got a peloton and lost lots of weight (he wasn't obese but had some normal pudge and now he's very svelte). My DH is the same, not obese but could lose some padding.
Anyway, he got the bike and I'm shocked at how much he does it. He's def gone off the rails a little since the holidays with travel and stuff but he consistently does it 3 days a week and he rally hates working out in general. He said it's not completely boring. Which is his endorsement, haha. That's as excited as he'll ever get for a workout.
I can't do it because of my hips - but he's sold on it.
nectarine / 2243 posts
@SweetiePie: yet thats sorta me. I could stand to lose some extra padding. The only workouts I've really ever enjoyed have been organized sports. But this thing is addictive and it is definitely NOT boring..

I had a patient (I'm not even sure which of my patients it was!) call my supervisors directly to tell them how pleased they've been having me for their nurse and that they're thankful for me. All my supervisors/manager emailed me back to congratulate and thank me- it felt so good

I just love reading through threads like this!
I took LO to the mall soft play place on Monday, because it was raining. He is really shy, but he had the best time playing with the other kids there on Monday and asked to go back today. It made me so happy to see him having fun and interacting so well with the other kids.

@SweetiePie: tomorrow is my first day that my 2yo is in school on my off day! It's going to be happening once a week but so far on the first 2 weeks since he's started, he hasn't. I have so many little home organization projects and such I should do... but instead I think I am gonna take a nice bike ride to a great coffee shop and just read my book.
