I am considering looking into a part time nanny. Someone who would pick our daughter up from school in the afternoon and keep her active until we get home from work. We may also consider using her during the summer, when our daughter is not in camps and during teacher workdays.
What's the best way of finding a part time nanny?

@mediagirl: If it's part-time, then I think it has to be someone that lives nearby! So maybe some flyers in nearby laundromats or other areas that have lots of local visitors?

I found my new babysitter from writing what I needed in notes in my phone, screenshoting and posting on IG. I'd also post on FB. I was feeling frustrated with care.com I found my job doing the same thing as a nanny on Craigslist before it was sketchy.

If you have a local college or university near you, another thought is to put up flyers there. Several friends of ours have hired nursing students as PT nannies/caregivers. Afternoons can work well with student schedules and the upside is you have someone with first-aid/medical care knowledge on hand too.

Word of mouth. There is a big nanny scene here and someone always knows someone.
There's also a FB group here for moms and nannies. People post what they want and connect there.
