I never really felt comfortable with any seated breastfeeding positions and I always nursed LO in the side lying position. I probably can't use it as much when my new baby arrives...I will need to stay alert and also watch LO.
What is your favorite breastfeeding position or hold?

Cradle hold - usually in a reclined position - either laying back on the couch or in bed... We sit up more sometimes but I have a strong letdown so laying back seems to help LO not choke on too much milk.

I like the cradle hold while sitting on the couch. I can pretty much do it anywhere now. Car, standing, any chair. It didn't work well for me when he was first born tho. I used the cross cradle when he was a newborn. I also like side lying.

I want to try side lying but I am intimidated for some reason! I am new to BFing but like the football hold on my right and cross cradle on my left. Not sure why, but it's working so I don't want to mess with it!

Currently cross cradle with the boppy; hoping that once DS can hold his head up we'll be able to switch to cradle and lose the boppy. Right now if I have to nurse sans boppy I end up with sore nipples because DS pulls on them and latches shallow.

When LO was little it was always cross cradle with a boppy/brest friend... it was nice when he got older and could latch normally in any position as long as a boob was within reach

I loved football when she was a NB, then crosscradle, and now at 5 months we do almost only cradle.

Side-lying, but only at night because I always end up falling asleep with him (which isn't a bad thing, but I usually have a list of things I need to do). During the day cradle hold with a Boppy.

We did cross cradle when she was teeny tiny because I was uncomfortable holding her neck up with cradle. We tried the laid back position but that didn't ever take. Now, at almost 6 months, my favorite is just cradle and laying down (at night). That laying down position is AMAZING when you're exhausted.

Sitting up straight with cross cradle. I am really not able to get a hang of the lying down position at all, especially since I have a forceul let down and at any minute milk may start spraying everywhere

I really like the laid back style (they lay essentially stomach to stomach and I leaned back). We also did cross cradle and football depending on what was happening.

football as a newborn was the only way she would latch well! now we mainly do cradle. if i try side-laying she spits up on my sheets
