Growing up I wanted to be a music therapist. I have a degree in art therapy, so pretty close!

I do love it, but it doesn't make me much money, which is why it makes more sense for me to be a sahm now.

I am a preschool teacher and I LOVE it. Growing up, I wanted to be several different things-- actress, model, etc which obviously was unrealistic for my shy, 5 foot tall self. Then I wanted to be a pediatrician/pediatric nurse but I soon learned that I can't deal with blood and all the things that go along with the medical field.

I went to school to teach K-6 but recently received my early childhood certification. I can honestly say I enjoy my day at work!

I'm a high school teacher and I've always wanted to be a teacher. If I could be something different, it would be a writer for a magazine, or just freelance writing.

I'm an archives and records manager. I wanted to work in a museum for the longest time. Now that I'm in a similar field, there's no way that I would want to work in one because it's an extremely competitive field with limited available positions. Same with libraries and librarians. In those fields, you're a dime a dozen in big cities.

I'm a proposal writer at an HR outsourcing firm. I love my job, team, & company. Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. I actually completed a year of law school last year and dropped out due to the job market in the legal industry and my current company offering to pay for my MBA. I can go back to finish in the next five years, which I am highly considering if I can afford it.

I wanted to be a lawyer so very badly. Unfortunately when I grew up I had to come to the realization that I could never afford law school and went to college to become a paralegal.

So really I ended up in the same area of industry that I had intended, just in a different role- could've been worse! My fiance grew up wanting to be a director, and became a pipefitter and he's a touch bitter about that.

I wanted to be a neonatal nurse & started my school in nursing, however I decided that I would rather party my first year of college and switched and an easier major of Marketing. I am now in Online Marketing for a publishing company. Don't love it and wish I would have stuck out in the nursing field.

I wanted to be a mermaid. No joke.

I am currently a land administrator in an Oil & Gas company.

When I was growing up I don't think I even knew my current job existed...I work in environmental health and safety for a large chemical company. I wanted to be a scientist or a teacher when I was growing up, I do work in the science industry but I never imagined I'd be doing this!

I wanted to be a ballerina - I studied ballet (and other forms of dance) from age 5 to 16 when I quite full time. I just didn't have it in me anymore. I have friends who are professional dancers and my little sister is a dancer (apparently i inspired her to go into dance which was such a sweet thing to hear and she is amazing!). Now I am far removed from the art world -I work at a state college. Though I love working in higher ed I would like to dive into the non-profit sector. My masters is in non-profit management.
