We recently made the transition from formula to milk. The first gallon we bought was non organic whole milk. Now, we have horizon organic whole milk. I feel like milk is one of the things we should buy organic. DH is on the fence, mostly because of the price. It was $5.23 for a half gallon (organic) compared to $4 and some change for a gallon (non organic).
What do you buy? What's your favorite brand? Any good deals/coupons?

Charlie drinks hemp milk and olive hasn't started milk yet. We will avoid cow's milk but I'm too scared to do raw milk. We may put her on hemp too.

We haven't made the transition yet, but our ND wants me to rotate through almond, flax, hemp and rice milk. She said they all offer different benefits and instead of sticking to just one, we should rotate through them all to share the wealth.
She is MSPI, so cows milk isn't an option right now.

@Mrs. Bee: I'm scared to do raw milk too. I thought about buying almond or rice milk, but was worried about being out and about and not having access to those.

@Mrs. Bee: @Sweet T: we do organic raw milk! I've been drinking it for a little over a year and now regular milk tastes gross to me.
DS is 8 mos and I let him drink coconut milk every now and then. I might give him almond milk as well until he can drink raw milk (dr said 2 yo)
@Mrs. Bee where do you get hemp milk? I've never seen it.

Organic whole milk. Yes its more expensive .... but she drinks so much milk it's worth it to me to give her the good stuff.

@artbee: That's what I told my husband. I don't really care for us because we don't drink it very often. I use it for cooking and DH eats a lot of cereal. Since DS will be drinking a lot, i'd rather go organic and not expose him to those hormones.
