70's and 80's music

My dad listened to mostly classic rock. My mom listened to mostly top 40 so we listened to a lot of great 80s music together and a lot of that reminds me of good times, out with my mom. I always think about this with LO though because I listen to all kinds of stuff. We might go from opera to hip-hop to show tunes in one car ride lol. I always wonder what kind of musical influence I'll have on her!

Classic country (Reba, Alabama, The Judds), ABBA, Neil Diamond, The Monkeys. Mostly stuff she liked when growing up, a lot of top 40 hits from the 60s, 70s and early 80s. I like hearing those old songs, brings back good memories. I prefer similar music now, I hate hate hate classic rock.

Tom Petty, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, the Beatles. Still most of my favorite music! I've always loved classical music too, even though neither of my parents were really into it.

J's favorite song is currently "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" by the Hollies. He JAMS to it - makes this mama proud

I love him now too, but at the time he got a big eye roll from me. (Christmas for Cowboys is my favorite).

Dad and I danced our father daughter dance to "when you need me" by Bruce Spingteen.

Country allll the time!!

Devo, Violent Femmes, and Bob Marley are the only ones I remember specifically. Mostly punk rock type stuff, some classic rock.

James Taylor, classical, mostly easy listening type stuff. I can't think of her favorite artist...it's a woman... Definitely Some Jackson 5.

Classical, along with... Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, U2, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd to name a few...

Mom was mostly Country in the 90s, but also lots of Paul Simon, Jodi Mitchell, James Brown, ZZ Top, motown and anything my Dad played in his band (mostly Cajun and zydeco).
