Because we're moving at the end of July, I'm not able to nest and prepare LO's nursery like I'm aching to, so I'm trying to think of all the other things I can do to prepare for the big day.
What songs did you have on your L&D playlist, if you had one? I'd love to start compiling some stuff and am drawing a blank on what I could put on there!

I might be showing my Seattle here, but Dave Matthews. That got me through early labor wonderfully. Mellow, but not in a put-you-to-sleep kind of way. I also liked that his lyrics are clear and easy to understand, so I could focus on them. But by about 15/16 hrs in I could hardly have told you my name, let alone cared about what music was playing.

I had two different mixes, and waited until the hospital to decide what I wanted. One was calmer, and had Brandi Carlile an Nina Simone type music on it, the other was a bit more... rockin'. It had things like Social Distortion on it. I liked the calmer one while in labor, and if I had remembered to bring it into the OR (where I had to push) I would have had the more rockin' one.

I just started thinking about this too! My preferences for music are all over the place -- from 60s folk to jason mraz to 90s hip hop....so I have no idea what my playlist is going to look like.
Having said that, I purchased the hypnobabies program which has tracks for you to listen to while you are in labor

@MrsClownfish: that's the second time I've heard of hypnobabies! Definitely going to need to get it 
Since I've posted this I've been thinking a lot about it and I think stuff like Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Colbie Calait, etc is what I'm going to go with. Hopefully it helps!

Oh, I saw a funny thread of this one time where people shared their songs. A woman said she had Salt & Peppa's Push It on there! There's a band called Sin Redmond and they play a song called Good Thoughts. Before we were even TTC, I remember hearing it and thinking that sounded like a good song to have a baby to! Tracy Chapman has some soothing songs, like I'm Ready.

I sat it on a birth class and the instructor played a few relaxing songs... one of them being "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and let me tell you, it really set the mood. I loved it.

On my mix I had a mix of Bob Marley (my happy place is Jamaica) and mellow country toons (mostly George Strait.) However, I did not listen to my mix at all, I wanted silence.

@Lulu Mom: I was with my sister and she ended up wanting mainly silence. Everything bugged her. I remember putting on her wedding CD that had a Garth Brooks song. Mid-contraction and throwing up, she made it clear that she did NOT want to hear that song. She was annoyed b/c he had cheated on his wife, and she didn't want to hear a song sung by a cheater. Hah!

@ash: those lists are awesome! Omg I can imagine hearing "What a Wonderful World" during the final push and having beb on my chest...haha I may or may not be crying right now.
