DS is 8 weeks old and is incredibly noisy in the night - grunting, gurgling, snorting, fussing. He does this while he is asleep but he also wakes up and wiggles around and makes lots of noise. It only escalates to crying once or twice a night at which point I feed him, otherwise I try to wait him out and see if he'll fall back to sleep or get back to a deeper sleep state on his own. In the meantime however he is keeping DH and I awake. He is currently swaddled in a bassinet with white noise
in our room.

So what I'm asking is should I transition him to his own room? If I do won't all these crazy noises come through the monitor and keep us awake anyway? Or not use the monitor - his room is next to ours - and hope I hear his hungry cries? Is there something else I can do to help him spell more deeply? Am I doing the wrong thing by not actively helping him fall back to sleep?

Thanks from a sleep deprived FTM!
