We are going to Vegas in October and I hope it will be hot enough to relax by the pool during the day! We also are planning on getting a spa treatment and looking at golf. What else would you suggest doing during the day??
Thanks

We rented a car one day and drove out to Red Rock Canyon and hiked for the day which was really fun! And shopping. There was a lot of shopping

@Truth Bombs: oh wow that's an awesome idea. My husband and I love to hike.

Aside from what you already have planned, how about sleep late because you will be up late!!

We've also done Red Rock Canyon, it is gorgeous. And if you have a car, go to the Hoover Dam as well. We looked at the Grand Canyon as a day trip but it's 275'ish miles each way and that was simply more than we were willing to tackle as a day trip.

I haven't been to Vegas but my answer is day drinking since you are sans kids.

We booked a hiking tour with Neil of Hike This Las Vegas - he picked us up at our hotel, drove us out to Red Rock Canyon, and guided us on a "scramble", which was kind of a half rock climb half hike. It was WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it. You could of course just do it yourself but this way you get a cool route, no risk of getting lost, and he provided backpacks, water, and snacks. Other than that I like the spa at the Aria (for $40 you get a day pass to their pool, hot and cold plunge pool, salt room, steam rooms, and hot rock beds), wandering through all the casinos, the outlet mall and Fashion Show mall (but we're Canadian so the shopping might be more of a draw for us), food (if you have a late dinner you can fit an extra happy hour meal in!) and day drinking.

@agold: This is what I was going to say! Just took a vacation sans kiddos with DH...I don't think we were ever out of bed/at breakfast before 10. It was AMAZING!

@winniebee: blackout shades are the best thing about hotels.

@winniebee: @Smurfette: DH likes to say he won't stay at a hotel that doesn't have blackout shades and a swim-up bar.

@Smurfette: I was so confused when DH started walking out of a casino with a drink in hand. So weird to day drink AND do it on the street

We rented a boat on Lake Mead one trip, but usually just sleep late, eat, pool....
