So adorable! For adults I'd go lighter to counter the darker colors on your girls. So ivory/light gray> Or I think a soft gray plaid would be cute too!

@Lonsk: I’m terrible at styling scarves but I think the color of that one works really well with both dresses. For the girls I think similar dark shoes for both of them would be good (Target has a these cute little maryjanes in a subtly sparkly black that I just bought my kids- they love them and they are $10). I think lighter tights would be better with the dark dress, but not totally necessary. Pink to match the bow would be super cute. Gray with the little ones dress would be good.

I also think a darker purple sweater would be nice for you, like a bluer shade of deep purple. But depends what you can find that you like the fit!

For DH what about the purple shirt he has with a medium gray sweater?

@Lonsk: I've been on HB forever and that is the best compliment ever!! For tights, are you opposed to white? These are our favorite tights. Actually, looking at the color options, what about getting the grey heather and then having your husband in white button down and grey heather sweater over? I can sometimes convince my husband to wear a sweater vest... not sure if your husband would be down:

I'm now wondering about a dress for you with boots. At 4 months postpartum I felt a lot more comfortable in dresses than pants. I think these dresses are good contenders (I own both and can attest to them looking good postpartum!) --
