I'm a December mommy..... Bumping for you! I want an epi. Had it with my lo and loved it

I've always wanted a med free birth as long as I can remember. I was open to the idea of an epidural at first, but I watched my sister and sister in law suffer through an epidural that didn't stick and caused more problems than help. So I'm hoping to go into labor on my own, no Pitocin, no epidural, no medical interventions.

@runsyellowlites: Hoping you get your homebirth! I would be having one but my state doesn't license lay midwives. It's impossible to find one that will do a homebirth in my state.

I'm hoping an in hospital natural birth will do!

I checked med free, though I don't care about med free necessarily, just would like to try to go without the epidural or other pain medicines. Just to see if I can! I have ZERO reluctance to ask for an epidural though if I need it. I just have always been told by my gyno's how HORRENDOUS my menstrual cramps are and how they compare to labor pains and want to truly see how they compare!

I am a January momma and I will be going in with the same mind set as last time. I would prefer no interventions but will take them if I need it. The epi sure felt AWESOME last time! However it did slow everything right down.

We are still WTT but I want whatever makes me LESS STRESSED. So I will be taking advantage of any pain meds as well as looking into a water birth at a birth center. Will welcome any medical personnel to be present.

January mam, here. I'm hoping for med free, home birth, midwife, maybe water birth.

Just like with baby 1, I'll be going in with a loose plan, but no expectations because many births do not follow plans. The last thing you want to be is married to a plan you're upset about having to change while in labor. I intended to labor as long as possible without meds, perhaps doing the entire thing naturally, and preferred not to be induced. Instead, a week late, I had low fluid, had to be induced, pitocin-induced contractions were 1 minute long and 1 minute apart, and I had back labor too. I decided on a epidural for the last couple of hours, and even though it didn't touch my back labor, I loved it and would do it again if I feel it's necessary. Didn't slow my labor down one bit, in fact I was ready to push hours before my OB expected, and was able to get up and walk myself to the bathroom right after delivery, no problems nursing right away either. Do what feels right, be open to unforeseen circumstances and last-minute changes.

For my first baby I was minutes from a major medical center. This time we live in the sticks. Over an hour and a half to my hospital which could be amplified with snow or a storm considering I'm due February! This terrifies me! Last time I went a week over and ended up a c section. I'm guessing I'm lined up for Vbac and I was totally pro natural birth last time and was med free the whole way until (at 7 cm) they discovered she was breech. But now ... I kind of want a scheduled section. I feel nuts saying that but I'm so scared of the drive and the weather!
