We did tons of camping trips and road trips, but our first trip where we went on a plane was to Maui in 11th grade. That was definitely our best family trip because Maui is gorgeous! I've snorkeled and scuba dived in a lot of places around the world, but Maui still has the best.

My favorite was a road trip in the mountains of Colorado. Usually our family vacations were to Arkansas to visit my grandparents (which are some of my favorite memories) but this was a 7 day trip where we did all the touristy stuff!

We went on a cruise to Key West and Cozumel when I was 13. That was a lot of fun.

When I was 15 my dad retired and we used all his left over airline miles and hotel points to go on a father/daughter European adventure (London, Paris, Rome and the Amalfi Coast). It was amazing!

I'm not sure if it counts as a family trip because my brother and sister stayed home, but my favorite was a road trip with my parents to Cooperstown and then through Western MA. We stopped in Stockbridge and visited the home of Herman Melville and one of Norman Rockwell's studios and a bunch of places like that, and then went to a family wedding near Boston. It was nice to get to pretend to be an only child for a while and not have my sister and brother 1. smashed in the backseat with me and 2. constantly bickering.

We went on a road trip to Virginia and went to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens amusement park. I was such a history nerd, I loved it.

@Mrs. Bee: It really was! My mom was going through a period of being very scared to fly so she opted not to come and I think she still regrets it! But when I studied abroad in college they came over at the end of my program and we went to Barcelona for a week so she made up for it!

we went on two big flying vacations. We went to Japan to visit my Aunt and Uncle who were stationed there and then we used our miles from the Japan trip to go to Florida. Both were great but I think we had a lot of great times on our yearly summer camping trips and trips to visit family.

We always did the same vacations, road trips up north to our cabin, Mackinac Island, or Niagara Falls, oh and summer trips to Korea. We did a big Disney trip when I was in 4th grade, but I honestly loved our recurring trips more than that big trip!

Honestly - the reoccurring trip to visit my grandparents in FL. We always had a wonderful time and had a lot of traditions surrounding those trips!

Hmm...we were really lucky and took a lot of trips (my mom traveled for work so we flew on her frequent flyer miles and used hotel points). Probably the best one was Hawaii - we did 3 days on Oahu, 3 on Maui, and 3 on Hawaii. It was the 1st time I ever snorkeled, and we went up to Haleakala, drove the road to Hana, hiked across old lava flows, went to an authentic luau... Yeah, that wins.
When I was 3, we drove cross-country in our old VW bus from PA to WA. We stopped in tons of National Parks and went hiking and stuff. If I could remember it, that'd probably be my favorite. But alas, I was 3 and only have VERY vague memories which may actually be implanted because of talking about it and looking at the pictures so many times with my parents.

I think my favorite trips all involved going to Thailand. My dad is from there and we would go every few years to visit his family and sight see.
