I was a nanny. Caring for my own child/family is way better but also more work! I don't plan on going back. My girls will be 19 mo the apart so I'll be going back to school (just did the basics previously because I could never decide what I wanted) when they start Kindergarten. I'm pretty excited even though it's a few years away. I think about it often!

I taught middle school. I loved teaching but hated the beurocracy behind it. I'm not sure what I'll do when I go back to work. Maybe something in the nonprofit sector.

Substitute teacher. I LOVED it. It was all the fun of connecting with the students without the responsibilities of grading and lesson planning. I will go back to work when the kids are in school. I never plan to be a full time teacher because the flexibility of subbing is too good to pass up.

Attorney. I have no idea what will happen in terms of returning to practice. I'm maintaining my license, but we've since moved states so I would need to sit for the bar exam again. I worry about having been out of practice for too long to be hirable, but my background is in public sector work, and I feel confident that I could return to that if I wasn't practicing.

A nanny. I was over it though and ready to care for my own family!

Journalist. I loved it. Maybe I'll try get back into it if we move back to England, but more than likely I will retrain.

Teacher. I'm currently teaching an online course and have two lined up for spring. If I go back to a traditional classroom it probably won't be until LO starts school.

I was in marketing and communications for a non-profit.
Doing the same thing now, but on a freelance basis and from home so I kind of see myself as SAH.

I was a publicist. Didn't completely love it but it had its moments. I do freelance writing now and am the Communications VP for a volunteer org I'm in so I still have my hand in it.

Corporate accounting - I miss using my brain in that way. I love staying home but it has made me lose some of my smarts. I'll go back in a few years when the kids are in school/preschool.

Lawyer (civil litigation).
No. I don't miss it at all. Like... At ALL.
Yes I do plan to return to work bc law school loans require it. I'd really like to get into a wealth management firm though. I'd rather not return to litigation, though I may have to (and admittedly it may be better at a different firm).

Attorney. Also litigation. I did go back after DS1 was born. We also moved states but I was in practice long enough where I don't have to retake the bar exam so am getting my license in the new state. Having another baby in a few weeks and will re assess in 6 months. I'm not sure I miss my particular job but do miss parts of working out of the house.

Tax Manager in public actg. I doubt I will ever go back full time. I may pick up one or two clients seasonally once kids are in school. Or not...

Another lawyer. Do not miss it one bit. Not at all. Would be THRILLED if I never have to practice again.
Not sure when I will go back to work ... But we both agree that when I do, I will not be going back to law. It made me (and subsequently , our whole family life) absolutely miserable.

Yet another lawyer. No desire to practice again, but I would like to work. We will see.

Finance. I have no plans to return. No, I don't miss it, being a SAHM is much more enjoyable.

I worked at a nonprofit in volunteer management/outreach. I'm now working like 10 hours a week, but on a short term contract for a pilot program. I wouldn't go back to work full time for just any position, but I do expect that one day I will go back in some capacity, either in the nonprofit world or as an entrepreneur starting my own business.

I worked in education/professional development. I do miss parts of it, particularly the idealism/ feeling like you can make difference in the world but I try to channel that into my own kids now. I'm really conflicted about going back to work. I think I'd like to challenge myself in that way again but also feel that it is important to be home right now (esp with all the changes/moving we are going through).

A waitress. SAHM is a much nicer job.
I have been temping at a non profit on and off for the last 4 years but it's so little, I don't count it too much. I do know that I can go full time there when I'm ready.

I was/am a graphic designer.
I worked a bit on the side (at home) last week because our company needed the help, and that was kind of stressful with a 2.5 month old baby lol. I miss working sometimes, but I still do lots of side graphic design projects for myself. Being a SAHM has always been my "dream job".

I was a daycare director. I didn't love it, but I do miss working. I'm 2 quarters away from getting my master in teaching...hopefully I can finish once my twins are in kindergarten and find some sort of job share that let's me work part time.

I was a paralegal for a criminal firm. I liked the research aspect a lot but the politics with the DA and stress from clients were difficult. I am now wrapping up pre-reqs to apply to nursing school in a couple of years

Front office at an urgent care - don't really miss the job but I miss the people!
