On mine: the baby monitor, my contact lens drops, Lush Sleepy hand lotion, a clock, a lamp, a small stuffed monster wearing a red hoodie, my three happiness journals (two full and one ongoing, so I can look back), and a lot of books - the three volumes of Tiny Book of Tiny Stories, Salinger’s Franny and Zooey, Lost at Sea by Bryan Lee O’Malley, Don’t Get Too Comfortable By David Rakoff, The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur, and Uncommon Type by Tom Hanks.

This is my "dropping" place that's relatively kid-safe so it's a disaster!
Lamp, tissue box, baby monitor, phone (charging), watch (charging), power strip that was mounted on the back of the nightstand but fell off, glass of water, a framed photo of DS that I want to hang next to the nightstand, the box for the iwatch (because it's a cool shape and I'm sure I can use it somewhere, lol), pen, books: Baby 411, The Shepherd's Life, my 5-year journal, Oh Crap! Pottytraining. Most of the small things (not books) are on a round ikea tray to try and keep the water from leaving rings and help my phone not fall off the nightstand. There are 3 drawers that are filled with the random odds and ends of life: favorite pens, earbuds, emery boards, old ipod, hand cream, lip balm, house keys to my parents' and inlaws' homes, extra wallets, old sunglasses, costume jewelry, the second gateway to Narnia...oh, anything could be in there! -
Monitor, bio-oil for my belly, my medication, a bottle of water, a lamp, a pair of ear plugs.
