I didn't book any because I planned to do some myself (basic ones) but I haven't gotten to it. Two kids give you much less time in the day 
C is 2 weeks today..I'm hoping to do some tomorrow! Wishing I booked some because I'm so tired, but c'est la vie. Hoping they're still cute!

Our hospital took some. They weren't amazing and crazy posed or anything, but they'll do. That's all we did.

@ValentineMommy: our hospital did some too - I love them! but I don't know that I want to pay the $120 for the disc of 8 images..decisions, decisions. haha!

We did ours at 12 days old; my daughter was in the NICU for a few days so while I would have preferred to do them earlier, it wasn't an option. That said, I LOVE our newborn photos. We had our own photographer do them and got great baby, family, and baby with each parent shots.

I'm hiring a professional.. They'll be doing between 5 and 14 days of life, which is the standard for traditional newborn photos! Before they "wake up" basically!

We did them at 9 days old I believe, our photographer requests before 10 days old when possible to try and capture the sleepy stage but she was booked up around my due date so day 9 was the earliest we could get and he was already starting to be more wakeful.

A local newborn photographer wanted to take pictures of DD for free after she saw her and she opted to take them at 11 days. It worked out well! Actually, my profile pic is one of them.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can get some cute ones tomorrow during DD1's nap. DD2 was two weeks early and tiny, so she's still 6.5 lbs and sleepy! She's curled in a tight ball on my chest as we speak, lol

I recommend before 10 days but as the momma, you have a lot more flexibility on timing when she's sleepy! Crank the heat so you're almost sweaty, play white noise and clear off surfaces so you have a clean background and foreground. Try to set it up where you get some natural light and go for a bunch of different angles.

The best time is between 3 days and 14 days. After that babies arent as bendy.
