DS is 6 months old. We've given him a sippy cup 2 or 3 times since he turned 5 months old. We put water in it all 3 times...just enough to make sure he wasn't sucking in a bunch of air. He loves it though!
How old was your LO when you introduced a sippy cup? What did you put in it?

LOs were 6-7 months when we started them on sippies. We just put water.

I tried one at 5 months and it didn't go over well. He's 6 months now and he loves being able to hold it!

Around 6 months we tried with water and it was a disaster so we waited until 9 months to try to force it a little and still used water. Now that my son is 1 we offer whole milk in the sippy.

We tried at 6 months, then 9.. Finally at 11 months, Lo is drinking from a straw sippy.

we introduced it at 5 months and introduced the straw sipper yesterday! LO was a pro with both! LO is 9 months so he only gets water for now.

Well, it's good to see that everyone agrees on water!
DS had his 6 month well-baby checkup a few days ago and the nurse said to put juice in it. I told her I didn't want him to have extreme diarrhea. I think we'll stick with water for a little while.
