I took a class at the public pool when I was 5, and then joined a swim league for kids. Bee took a swimming class at the YMCA around the same age.
My son is taking a swimming class as part of his after school program (he's also five).

I was on the older side. I didn't start lessons until I was 9. It was always weird being in the same class as 5 & 6 year olds!

Basically from birth. My parents are both avid swimmers, so my brother and I were in the pool at a very early age.

Didn't start learning until I graduated from college. Still terrible at it. My kids are better than me.

Early...a few years old maybe. Then I took official classes at 5 or so. We were always on the water and my parents spent their summers at the lake so it started early.

My cousin taught me when I was 4 (and he was 8 lol). I'm sure my mom was supervising, although I don't remember that. He basically just taught me enough to stay afloat and get from point A to point B. Then when I was in kindergarten (6) we had swim classes through school where we learned the right way to swim.

Super early. 3 maybe. I started taking lessons when I was 2 (with my mom) and then stayed in lessons til I was 12.

Around 6 or so. My parents bought a house with a pool- so I had to learn. Everyone pitched in to help me- parents and grandparents.

I only doggie paddled a bit until I was in my early twenties! But I learned in college from a major swim guru and went on to get my lifeguard license along with a bunch of hard core swimmers on a marine base. They couldn't believe I had just learned to swim a few years before. Then I got into surfing and scuba diving right afterward!

I don't remember, I know I took lessons at an early age, probably 3.

I was very very young. My mom always jokes that because she jumped off a diving board while she was pregnant (before she knew, of course) that I was a born swimmer!

I don't remember so I must have been young - I always remember being able to swim
