For me, non-Starbucks fancy sweet treat style coffee became a regular occurrence when DD2 was born. DH started drinking coffee when he was 13! He asked my MIL and she told him he could drink all the coffee he wanted as long as he didn't add sugar figuring he'd hate the taste. Nope! Lol! He drinks 4-5 cups a day!

I can't remember so I must have been pretty young. My mum used to put milky tea in my bottles though!!

Specialty drinks began in high school, but I didn't enjoy regular coffee in the mornings until I was working at 22. When I was in law school, it became a part of my daily routine.

@Cherrybee: awe, my British grandmother used to give us weak milky tea all the time when we were very young!

Ummm, don't flame me, but age 8 or so? It was really a mug of milk with a splash of coffee in it, but we've been together ever over 30 years.

I feel like it was sometime in middle school that I would randomly have a cup on the weekends. I didn't start drinking it regularly until high school, probably Junior or Senior year. I've always preferred it black, but will occasionally enjoy some yummy flavored coffee

@looch: DD1 now asks for "coffee milk" all the time because I made the mistake of letting her have a vanilla steamer from Starbucks once.... I have a feeling she'll be on the hard stuff early

High school, but not regularly til college... and even then it was more for all nighters and such!
Working life is what pushed me to daily coffee.

@Cherrybee: my LO *loves* tea!! She will beg and beg me for tea. I don't put any milk in; I just make it weaker than my tea, which has only a tiny bit of sugar in it. It's not very sweet at all, so it surprises me she likes it, but she begs both me and my mom for tea!
I had my first latte around 12 or 13, but didn't start drinking coffee regularly until I was working full time, in college, and also working a second job.

High school! There was always a breakfast truck parked on the way from train station to school. I would get a cup of coffee for 50 cts most mornings.

I started drinking coffee at 15 with a ton of cream and sugar. Now I just drink it black or with a splash of dairy.
Since I stopped sweetening my coffee, I haven't been able to stomach any type of speciality coffee drinks. I like my coffee as plain and basic as possible.

As a kid my parents or grandparents would give me steamed milk with a splash of coffee. I'm super sensitive to caffeine though, so I didn't graduate to a cup a day until after I was married. I still prefer my coffee light and get shaky and sweaty if I drink too much. I love my cup a day though!

I was an occasional drinker so it's not so hard for me now that I'm pregnant to give it up. If I want it bad enough, I'll definitely have a cup. -
My first cup of coffee was when I was 11 at a back to school night . I thought it was so gross. Little did I know how addicted I'd be just a few years later. I think high school is when I really started to enjoy it and I know that in college i was totally addicted to starbucks.

I started drinking coffee rather young albeit it was very sweet with sugar and cream, but still regular not decaf. I was ordering it on my own at restaurants when I was 5 ot 6. By 9 or 10 my dad would bring me a cup every morning before school.

I started drinking Starbucks specialty drinks in HS (frappuccino's, etc.), and coffee in college - can't remember exactly when or why!

It became routine in college but mainly because I enjoyed drinking it - I have rarely drank coffee to wake me up! I stopped drinking it regularly when I was pregnant and only recently picked up up as a few-times-a-week thing

I would get a latte at the mall with my mom when 1 was 12 or 13. I still consider myself a "recreational" coffee drinker.

When I became a CPA! After working a 60 hour week, dragging my butt into work on Saturday almost required me to acquire a taste for coffee!

At some point in college. In HS I started drinking the sugary starbucks drinks and I don't remember when I transitioned to liking regular coffee (though I still don't like it black), but I think it was around the time when I was working at a fancy restaurant that had really good brewed coffee that I could drink for free. I have gone off coffee many times since then, but I always go back. It's so yummy!

probably around 16 as a recreational thing? When I was in high school the "thing" we hanging out at the coffee shop. I didn't drink coffee regularly until 19-20.

Drank it regularly later in college. I drink a cup a day and sometimes none on the weekends. I am also pretty sensitive to caffeine.
