@Pumuckl: Ok wow that's amazing! Does it take a long time tobuckle in all 4 kiddos?

DD is still rear facing at 23 months, she's about 35" and 30 lbs, so we still have a little bit longer until she hits the limits!

3 years and two months, we got her a big girl FF car seat and since I was 9 months pregnant and we needed the RF for the baby

Around 26 months - she was miserable every time we got in the car, complaining about her feet and legs. It took us a while to figure out what was going on, but I think she was just terribly uncomfortable. She was well within the FF guidelines for size so we switched her and she's been happy since.

@MrsBrewer: the twins are only 3.5 months so they are buckled into their infant capsules. And buckling the other two in takes a moment but that's okay

A few weeks before her 4th birthday. We have a Foonf but she's now outgrown the height for RFing. Girlfriend is a giant.

My daughter was 38months when she switched her. My son is currently 28 months and I think it'll be hard to hold out that long with my son. We have a Corolla so it can be tough to get him in without hitting my head.

We flipped my oldest at 4y2m. We need the space on a long road trip and when we got home flipped her back but a month later she was asking to FF.
I'll keep my younger two (28 & 16 months) until at least four.

2 years exactly. I'm sure we'll do the same with DS2 who is currently 16 months. My boys are big and my husband is tall and the rear facing makes it very tight in our cars.

4.5yo is still rf, but we'll be passing her convertible to her little sister soon and ff her.

LO is just about 2 & we don't intend to switch her anytime soon.

We turned around right at 2 for LO1 and plan to do the same for LO2. My kids are tall and eventually get close to the max height limit for rear facing. I am comfortable with it and my older one was happier in the car once she could see in front of her.

DD is almost 2.5 and still rear facing, we plan to max out the rear facing limits of her seat.

We kept her RF until 39m when her brother arrived. We had to switch her seat to the other side of the car so decided to switch her to FF then.

Do any of you have size XL kids? My LO2 is 6
months and already weighs 24 lbs/ 27 inches. I don't know that she will make it to age 2 and stay under 35 lbs! I flipped her sister at age 2 but I would love to wait a little longer this time.

    2.5 for LO 1, 2 for LO 2 and prob 2 for LO 3!

@caterw: my second was 26" at her 6 month, but her growth slowed down a lot in her second year. I just made sure we got seats with as high a limit as we could and figured that's all we could do.

@caterw: I have a big kid. We just got a seat with high limits. There are many seats on the market that rear face to 50 pounds now.

@caterw: same as PP we have a big kid, he was around 27lbs at 9 months. He's slowed down a little now at 4 and is 45lbs now, he's still tall at 43.75in though. We just got the seat with the highest RF limit we could find. It wouldn't help you though since carseats in Europe are different.

We flipped my older one at 2.5. I couldn't reach in to get her tight because of my big old pregnant belly. I determined being safely strapped in was more important than RF. She's 4.5 now and I honestly can't imagine having her RF. She likes to see the same things I can see and talk about them, she likes looking at her RF baby bro and holding his hand and singing to him and on long trips she watches the entertainment system in our car. Not to mention her legs would be folded like a pretzel. My little guy is 1.5 and we'll probable flip him between 2.5 and 3.

A little after two, after talking to her dr. Not sure how long we will go with lo2. At least until two.

@caterw: we use Clek seats and have 100%ers. DD3 was 29.5" at her six month.

2 for DD1 - she started to unbuckle herself.

DD2 is just over 2 now, and I really want to turn her around because my car doesn't have overhead air vents and she's always so hot when I take her out from no air flow - but she hasn't hit the minimums yet for FF for her car seat. I'm going to buy her a car seat fan to get us through the summer.

@LuLu Mom: check out the noggle! It can get cold air or heat to the backseat.

@sorrycharlie: We had DS1 FF from 17 months, and thought we'd made it a long time because the state law was 12 months. Our goal for DS2 was 2.5/3, but ended up FF in one vehicle at 22 months, since he was uncomfortable. He is still RF comfortably and happily in our other vehicle.

Still rear facing at age 3.5. I don't intend to turn her until absolutely necessary. She is such a peanut that she'll probably be able to rear face until high school.

We turned DS around 2. He was fighting me a ton about getting in the car. Turning him totally solved it, and I now think it's because he's really prone to motion sickness. IDK how you guys make it so long - DS outgrew the height maximum of his nextfit around 3 years old. At that point we needed a forward facing booster anyways.

DD is 9 months old right now and our tentative plan is to turn her when she's 2 years 3 months. She'll get turned forward facing and we'll use DS's harness boosters for her and get him new belt positioning boosters. He'll be 5 and I'm hoping he'll be ready for that then. If he's not, we'll put off turning her.

DS1 was turned at 2 when the law was to RF until 12 months. He's 4.5 now and in a high back booster with a 5 point harness.

DS2 is 20 months and still RF. We'll likely leave him as long as we can since he's a tiny little dude and isn't complaining at all.
