T hates being read to. He points to the pictures for the first two pages, then he wants to chew on the book. When I move it out of his reach he just gets mad and tries to shut the book. Lol
What if I read to him while he played? Maybe he would get used to it and enjoy it if he wasn't confined to my lap and staring at the pages?

LO1 would let me read several books in a row by 10 months.
LO2 has just started getting interested now at 13 months, but we still can't read for as long as I could with LO1.

DS1 - he tolerated it for a few pages at around 18 months or so. He started liking books when he started preschool at 2. DS2 has always enjoyed being read to. So different!

@Danizaur: just recently around 14 months. Now, she looooves books. We spent our entire snow day yesterday reading the same 5 books (her choice, not mine). Good times!

It's been in the last month or two that LO would sit in my lap and listen to a whole book. She's almost 18 months.

DS was like that for ages, he was allll about closing books! I think around 9 or 10 months he started to like being read to, and would let you finish a book. Now at 13 months he spends all day bringing me books, and I have even had to temporarily hide certain books because I cannot bear to read them for the 100th time that day!

10-11 months? She would bring us ALL THE BOOKS and we'd have to read them all to her. Every night. Now, she likes to be read to but she won't sit with us.
