When you're sad, how do you make yourself feel better?

Depends on why. A few way:
wine, a bath, tea, a movie, a good book, more wine, a walk, a good vent sesh with a girlfriend, a good cry.
I have seen a therapist when it's been serious and would go again if needed. Like I said, though, it really depends on why you're sad.

Venting to a person you are close to and crying it out, getting out of the house for a walk, doing something new, something you enjoy, something that engages you.
Maybe write it down or make a list or have some downtime to rest and process...

Call my mom
then probably eat some junk and have some wine, tbh.
I hope things are ok

@MamaBehr: Usually I make myself go exercise to get some endorphins going. But if that's not possible, I call my hubby or my mom.

Talk to my husband about it, cry, eat junk food and drink wine in a hot bath with a girly movie playing.

I put on loud music in the car and sing really loudly. Or I eat pizza, drink wine and cry.

@Cherrybee: we moved six months ago. we haven't settled in yet, severe lack of friend making, don't like the new house, don't like the new city, and I definitely thought we would have hit our stride by now. It's been rough.

Usually just take some time alone, to do whatever.. even just watch tv on my own in bed and have a bit of a pity party and then I feel better.

@MamaBehr: moving is so tough! I hope things get easier soon.
Exercise, talking to my mom or DH, and sweets are my go-tos when I feel sad. Obviously the sweets aren't the best choice

@MamaBehr: moves are so hard! We are still in the first 6 weeks of our move. We are some what hitting our stride. I think it helps that I have finally made a friend here. Have you looked into moms groups where you live? I met my new friend at a Babywearing meeting. That being said I know it's hard to make friends in a new place. I still call home and talk to my folks daily if not several times a day.
Big hugs!!

@MamaBehr: I have moved houses/towns/countries many times now & the real friend-making as an adult is so tough! And a big reason for why I struggled. I met a wonderful mum in my neighbourhood (one!!!) at library story time after being here for six months, and she's leaving soon for her home country across the other side of the world! So I feel your pain - as that was a rare & real friendship. I always find after a good long phone call with my mum or a Skype with a dear friend, I usually feel better for a while! And lots of walks outside - something good always comes of that. But def encourage getting out to a new mothers group to speed up the friend-finding...good luck with it all, moving is a biggie and can be quite confronting.
