Anyone else missing regular blog content?? I’m more of a lurker these days with less time to chime in on posts. Not having the blog content to fill my HB-read-need is painful.

I stopped reading the blog a long time ago. The content isn't really relevant to me now that I'm past the TTC/baby stage.

I've also been missing the blog posts! They're always so fun to read.
pear / 1648 posts
I've been missing them too! Also wondering whether the lack of blog posts has been slowing down the boards lately but I could just be imagining that.
persimmon / 1390 posts
I’ve been wondering the same too. I love the weekly roundup but some weeks that’s the only thing that’s posted. I know there were a few new bloggers who had joined last year too so I was surprised.

I do wonder if the bees not having great Internet and taking a while to post blogs has slowed down the bloggers because they get discouraged that it takes a while for stuff to get posted. Just guessing. But the bees don't even post due date boards anymore so I'm guessing everything is slow. I also miss blog posts
pomegranate / 3973 posts
YES! Definitely missing blog posts! I enjoy reading them, whatever the subject.
@snowjewelz: Agreed as well!
persimmon / 1380 posts
Agreed! I have been wondering this for awhile! I really miss the blog posts. I have a 2.5 yo and a newborn and I love the boards but I really miss having posts to read.
persimmon / 1385 posts
I miss them too. I feel like there is a bit of a slowing down of the whole site. I noticed it especially when I started to TTC again. When I was TTC in 2013 there were wayyyyy more people bouncing around the POAS boards than there is now.

I love coming to the boards, but I am really missing the in depth blog posts. I love hearing about parenting from all the different perspectives. And now that DD is getting older, I'd love more blog posts from moms of older kids. (although I don't think I'd ever get sick of pregnancy/baby squishiness posts!)
nectarine / 2431 posts
@peachykeen: Agreed! I can't help but feel like things are winding down at hellobee.
clementine / 874 posts
I think it is just an aspect of hellobee that people find the site when they're in the ttc/pregnant stage and as their kids grow older, they gradually phase back out.
But yes, I agree that I'd love more blog posts
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
I miss it for sure. I assumed that having to take over running the resort is taking most of their time.
pear / 1622 posts
I've been missing the blog posts and activity on here too. I read this article last month that made me wonder if mom blogs are dying. HB has been so helpful to me - thinking of mom blogs being on the way out is depressing https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/how-the-mom-internet-became-a-spotless-sponsored-void/2018/01/26/072b46ac-01d6-11e8-bb03-722769454f82_story.html?utm_term=.f70041e376f3

yes, I miss the blog posts too. And the boards are really slow too these days

I was wondering about the lack of blog posts and the boards have been more quiet too. I know I got more active when we were getting ready to TTC #2 but used to check in occasionally.
squash / 13199 posts
Yeah i haven't been as active as i used to be about 6 years ago when i moved over here from weddingbee. But i do miss how things were before on these boards and the blog too.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Grace: That was my assumption too, that they are running that resort now and are too busy!
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@Grace: @Adira: the bloggers don’t upload their own posts?
@autumnleaves: interesting observation. I wasn’t aware of most of the blogs mentioned in the article. I checked out Scary Mommy and it feels like Parents.com or something.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I didn't think so? I know on Weddingbee, there was someone who was in charge of gathering the blog posts and formatting them correctly and adding in where the "read more" break would be and determine when to post them and what order and stuff like that. I assumed the Bees were doing that for Hellobee.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I still hope we can keep the community going! I still love HB over moms group I'm on FB and have met so many wonderful mamas on here!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I assumed not. There used to be a pattern to how the posts were uploaded. There wasn’t two from the same blogger in one day, and there was at most only one shopping (for lack of a better description) post a day. And there used to always be 5 posts a day and they were spaced pretty evenly throughout. Someone must be organizing that.

@autumnleaves: I would agree with some of this article. Honestly, I only really liked some of the bloggers on hellobee - mainly older ones. I feel like I couldn’t relate to most. I WOH, I’m not into schedules or sleep training, I “wing” it most of the time. I most enjoyed the blogs about how they felt as a mom not telling me how they did something. And all the moms on Instagram are perfectly styled and thin with beautiful houses. Where are the real moms?

I have totally felt a slowing down on HB. It makes me sad. I used to spend a ridiculous amount of time on here, and now I feel like nothing is ever happening.
persimmon / 1310 posts
I'm more bummed about the lower activity on the boards. It's been the kindest internet group, so I don't want it to peter out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Here's the Weddingbee blog post that talks about what the Editor does (Mrs. Penguin at the time). Pretty sure that's what the Bees do here for Hellobee. Maybe they need to hire an Editor to take over that process like they did with Weddingbee.

I'm missing some of the old bloggers! I wish there was an update on what happened to some of them.
persimmon / 1101 posts
@Iced Tea: Ditto! I'm always a little bummed at how few posts I'm interested in now, and in how few new ones there are between visits. I'm sure it's partially the life stage I'm in, but I miss the "buzz" of the community.
persimmon / 1095 posts
Agreed. Very few posts. And you hear about all these new bloggers, seems like they post a handful of times then disappear.
apricot / 264 posts
@dolphin: me too! All the ones that posted when I had my 1st child are gone - Mrs. Tic Tac Toe, Mrs. Checkers
nectarine / 2243 posts
Do you think it is because people have gravitated to other forums? I, for one, am pretty active in my local FB moms group. Maybe others are too so they are less active on here? I don't know. But I agree, it has definitely slowed.
nectarine / 2086 posts
I’ve just come back to the boards now that I’m pregnant with my second baby and have been wondering the same thing! Boards are soooo much slower than I remember three years ago.
pomegranate / 3768 posts
@Mamatimes3: right?! I remember them! And Mrs. Wagon, Mrs. Hopscotch, Mrs. Confetti...It's like you get attached after reading so many posts and seeing so many cute pics of their kiddos!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I can only speak for myself. I was comfortable posting about my experiences and journey to parenthood. I hesitate to write about my children because I want to protect their privacy. I don’t know how they will feel when they grow up. They might not like that mom wrote about their tantrums on the internet. That doesn’t leave me with much to post about! Having two kids now means I have to prioritize my free time. Writing isn’t high on my list at the moment. Maybe one day it will be again.
persimmon / 1481 posts
I was wondering the same thing. There are lots of stories that kinda just dropped off and I keep wondering about the families.
pomegranate / 3355 posts
I've definitely noticed a drop of activity on the boards. I WOH and check in regularly and sometimes there will be nothing new for days. I honestly never followed the blog too much so I haven't noticed that so much.

Hi guys! I have been absent around here for a while but I miss it! For those of you that read the blog and now have older little ones like myself -what kind of blog posts would you like to see? I would like to get back to writing but I feel a little lost without the "baby" content. Thanks for the help in advance and hopefully we can all catch up soon!
