Wasn't there already a board post recently asking about the decline in blog posts? Was there any conclusion about why it has slowed down do much?
I love reading the blog posts and miss seeing updates.

I think since then there have been a lot of great posts and I thought we've been seeing an increase! Esp with the what we love Friday posts, and the series about eating. I think someone is supposed to push publish to schedule posts to go live; and I'm sure there could be a lag sometimes when someone happens to be unavailable?

@snowjewelz: I agree... I thought after that there was a good amount of posts for a bit. I've been surprised to see no posts in 10 days though.
Oh well... maybe I won't check for a few weeks so I can mentally feel like there are a bunch. haha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@RonjaL7: I didn't realize it had been 10 days! Whoever taking the lead on publishing may just happened to be on vacation or something?
I know we still never really found out the fate of HB, but I thought it was great that a lot of bloggers were super pro-active and involved and I've been trying to be better comment-er myself!

Yeah, they made the big announcement about Feeding Families month and then only had, like, half a dozen posts. I was disappointed.
pomegranate / 3355 posts
It's def fallen off. I don't even always read them but lately I keep noticing the same one and no new ones....
pomegranate / 3973 posts
Definitely disappointed with the number of posts. When was the last time we even had a new blogger?
persimmon / 1379 posts
I miss the updates too! When this came up on the boards before there was definitely an uptick in posts but it seems like things have tapered off again.
apricot / 343 posts
Was just about to post the same thing. Last one was August 1, almost 10 days ago...usually if it’s a holiday they will post about taking the week off or whatever. This is really strange.
nectarine / 2964 posts
Agreed. I guess it is hard to keep things rolling when you are so far away (in Philippines...)
And did anyone notice when you go to the website, the browser says the website is "not secure"? hmm.
blogger / nectarine / 2043 posts
@RonjaL7: I know @Mrs. Peas is doing her best to keep up with the posts, but has had a lot going on personally lately so I believe the lag is likely due to that. It's hard to keep up with something like this when it's not a full time job, so hopefully the Bees are thinking about ways to boost things up more.

@irene: yes that was discussed in the previous thread on this too! I really don’t understand why we can’t just get an update??
pear / 1750 posts
@irene: I noticed the security warning too. I checked and sure enough their SSL certificate expired 331 days ago. You have to pay your web host to renew that. Seems like the site isn’t being monitored very well.

I mean hellobee is still generating money from the ads, right? So someone is being compensated but no one is running it... Not saying it's the bloggers' responsibility at all.
I'm genuinely nervous that someday soon I will try to come here and the website will be permanently unavailable. And, like that, nearly 5 years of being a part of this community will be gone.
I wish there was a "place" we could all migrate to but I have no clue.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@crazydoglady: hopefully if that ever happened I wish there would be a Facebook page we could join (Hellobee alumnae or something ) - I too would be super sad if I randomly came here and it disappeared!!
nectarine / 2964 posts
@gotkimchi: @macintosh: hmm strange. I hope @mrbee: and @mrsbee: are ok. It is a little concerning with the unsecure connection status though.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@crazydoglady: yeah, when you put it like that this is a problem. There is a HB page on FB.
nectarine / 2400 posts
@macintosh: what does that mean exactly for us? Should we not be logging in because our passwords are vulnerable?
persimmon / 1111 posts
@gotkimchi: not necessarily. It just means they haven't paid for a certificate. Mine expires at work fairly frequently and we have top security. But it is fixed within hours and only expires because we are overworked. 10 months is.a huge sign that no one gives a crap about the site.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Is the HB fb group searchable or invite only? I couldn't find it by searching.
nectarine / 2431 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Also, some bees have paid for gold membership for a site that isn't even being run by anyone...thats not cool either.
cherry / 174 posts
@crazydoglady: ok! I saw that...looks like it's just sharing parenting related articles and not a community like here.
nectarine / 2431 posts
@Litebrite: FWIW, I think a FB group could work, but then anonymity would be gone.
cherry / 174 posts
@crazydoglady: it's true. I'd be less concerned about anonymity in a private fb group. I'm actually hesitant to post on hb because it's open to the world.
nectarine / 2400 posts
@crazydoglady: yes an excellent point about gold (though I’m not sure many people have it anymore) but honestly I don’t think it’s asking for too much for a simple update from the bees
nectarine / 2431 posts
@gotkimchi: Agreed. I'm sure we all feel the utmost compassion and sympathy for what the bees have been through since they moved, but doesn't negate the fact that we also deserve transparency and honesty about the state of hellobee...especially when it's still generating money.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
The state of this site is really unfortunate. I hope that the bees are okay and that nothing horrible happened - does anyone stay in touch with them outside hellobee? It is unprofessional to just disappear.
I guess we could all migrate to a subreddit - I don't use that site, does it work in an analogous way? With facebook, the whole structure of interacting through threads would be difficult to really replicate.

@periwinklebee: I think the last we heard from them was when Mr. Bee told us about the loss of his mom and then Mrs. Bee made some appearances briefly and that was it. My guess is a couple of bloggers have an idea of what's going on, but it sucks because it's not their responsibility.
Subreddit sounds interesting!
nectarine / 2400 posts
@crazydoglady: that is the last I heard too which is awful but this is unprofessional
@periwinklebee: I’m not familiar with reddit either
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@crazydoglady: Thanks, I think I missed that...
@gotkimchi: Completely. Let's just hope they pay the bill for the domain name when it comes due, but I won't count on it

@crazydoglady: oh no, I had no idea. Thank you for sharing. I recently loss my mom, we all saw that coming and that was difficult to process. From what @mrbee: wrote that has to be 100 times worse. And now they have to fully take over the resort. I genuinely hope they are ok. I hope @mrsbee: will write a post if she sees this updating us how they are actually doing... not just about parenting.
I used to illustrate for weddingbee and both of them were the nicest, most responsive and responsible people ever. They won’t ditch the ship just like that. This really makes me worry about them. I hope it was just a vacation, or somehow a complete loss of internet in the remote island, or I wonder if there were any typhoons hitting the islands recently causing damage and such (need to look it up). I hope we do hear from them soon for an update that they are safe. I hope the bloggers can step in and give us an update too.

Just chiming in to say that the bloggers as a group don't have any particular insights. Its possible a few of us keep in more regular contact with the Bees, but I at least don't.
I also find it is much harder to set aside the time and mental energy for posts in this environment. I never maintained a personal blog, i only ever wrote for HB.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Mrs. Tiger: Thank you for chiming in!@RonjaL7: I agree. It makes me sad. I used to be gold - generally don’t mind supporting a small business - but there stopped seeming any point. I wish we would just be told the truth if Hellobee doesn’t have anyone organizing anymore and will disappear. :’(

For those concerned about the Bees (which I was), you can read the reviews of the hotel they run on trip advisor and see they have put all of their energy into that. They have truly done a great job with it and people speak very highly of it and mention how they pretty much put their heart and soul in the visitor experience. Reading the reviews provided closure to me concerning the site as I can see the Bees are focused primarily (if not completely) on continuing MrBee’s Mom’s legacy.
I also know someone told another bee they were working on a “state of the Bee,” but that was several months ago.
With that said, I don’t pay for gold anymore and avoid clicking links on the site. I’ve been a member for almost 5 years and I’m primarily a voyeur now (if that).
