LO2, a 23 mo boy, is really into sitting on the potty. At his request I've been letting him sit on the potty whenever he asks for about a month, 2-5 times a day. He has not produced anything and honestly I'm tired of it. I don't like hanging out in the bathroom that much if we're not being productive and he's heavy (32lbs). Overall, I don't think he's ready but I don't know where to go from here.

He's sitting on the regular toilet with a kid seat. We have an Elmo potty from DD but he freaked when we pulled it out so it's back in the garage. He does not use the potty at daycare and DCP agrees that he isn't ready.

I expect potty training him will be a challenge because he is chronically constipated (poops very frequently if the moons & Miralax don't align) and isn't a champion pee-r. He never did the classic baby boy pee thing and there were some concerns in this 37 week ultrasound about the size of his kidneys. Just something that hangs around in the back of my mind.

Thoughts on how to move forward?
