Our Ikea mattress is a couple years old, and it's so lumpy and uncomfortable. We have to get a new one soon. I'd like to get an organic one, but boy they are pricey. I guess it is an investment though!

Ours is from ikea. We literally just bought it. It was expensive so i hope it holds up a little better than yours

Amazon (like everything else I own )! It's memory foam & it was cheap. It's soooooo much better than my last fancy mattress from a furniture store that was $$$$ and only lasted a few years. I wouldn't be upset about having to replace this one since it was inexpensive, but it's so comfy, I'd replace it with the same one!

A local furniture shop. I can't even remember the brand, but it's pillowtop, and then we have a memory foam topper on it. It's super comfy. It's just hard to find sheets that fit.

We have the Westin heavenly bed! It is Soooo comfortable, I highly recommend it. The best mattress I've ever slept on. After we have been away for awhile I always look forward to sleeping in our bed.

We got an organic mattress (I wish I could remember the brand.. Started with an S, not Serta or Sealy or Simmons.. Ooh just googled and it's Saatva) from a local store on crazy clearance. We love it!!

@SleepyMonkey: I am SO jealous. I am obsessed with the heavenly bed.

We tried out several mattresses at retail stores like Raymour & Flannigan. Once we picked out what we wanted we ordered it through Mattress.com. They weren't able to lower the price since it was a Tempur Pedic, but we were able to get free shipping, free bed frame, free sheets, free mattress protector, and 2 free king sized Tempur Pedic pillows.

We have a Tempurpedic, purchased from Sleepys. It was expensive but so so worth it- and it has a ten year guarantee that it won't lose it's shape or develop craters or lumps or whatever. It's amazing, hands down best home purchase we have ever made.
Like @sheskrafty: they can't lower the price but they threw in the fancy mattress protector and base (box spring).

I think it's a Beauty Rest and we bought it from Raymour & Flanigan (sp) since we were buying a bunch of furniture there and got a nice discount.

Aireloom from The Dump. Might be the only brand that is still a wholly produced US mattress. It's still awesome after 4 years.

We had a more pricey IKEA mattress that only lasted a few years. Just got a Casper mattress and really love it.

we got ours at sleepy - sealy
i do not recommend our mattress its lumpy and the springs pop. I can't believe we paid so much for ours.
We also had a problem with sleepys they said they would remove our mattress but what they did was bring it out of the apartment and leave it in the street

Parklane, they are priced really well and made just down the street (In Oregon) We got ours 2 1/2 years ago and love it. http://parklanemattresses.com/product-category/mattresses/

We have a hand-me-down mattress from the people who were in our apartment before us, 10 years ago. Yikes, I should probably get a new mattress.

@bunnylove08: we've had two mattresses from sleepy's...horrible experience with both. Never again. Our mattress came recommended on apartment therapy and we really liked it so we went for it.

I have a mattress that was intended to go to the Hyatt Regency Grand.
They ordered too many, and I know a mattress supplier Only cost me $350 for a king mattress and box!

We had a tempurpedic, but hubs complained that it retains body heat and made him hot. So we moved that one over to the guest room and after A LOT of research and testing out mattresses, we went with a hotel collection mattress. It's great ... I would recommend it.

We got ours based on the awesome sleeps we were having at my ILs vacation house. We love it! No idea what it is though.
Has anyone tried the Casper mattress? I have heard great things, but not being able to try it out seems odd to me!

We got the Four Seasons mattress from the hotel. You can go spend a night and try it before buying it. We are so spoiled and are always relieved when we come home to our mattress.

Costco!!!
But I would also recommend the Westin Heavenly Bed from Nordstrom.

Ikea mattress + Serta Memory Foam Topper. It's sooooo comfortable!
Specifically, it's 2 Ikea mattresses pushed together in one bed frame with a Cal King topper. Our mattress is firm (hard) with a 3" memory foam topper. We think the combination is perfect!
Eta: I had to add the details because it took me ages to figure that out since the mattress sizes are different here in Sweden. Just in case a another expat comes across this ...

Macy's - it's one of the S brands (Sealy, Simmons, Serta?)... we love it, so comfy! Going on 7 years...

Stearns and Foster for Costco. SO much cheaper than S&F beds at other retailers!
