I need a new swim suit! Preferably a tankini of some sort that hides my stomach and helps my boobs look less saggy. Any advice??

Have you looked at Venus? I really like their variety of designs, especially the ones that don't make you look frumpy.

@madisonbee: Wow, LOVE LOVE LOVE! How are they with sizing and returns?! I'm 12 weeks PP so I feel like I have no idea my size anymore....lol

@madisonbee: Thanks! I haven't shopped there before. Do you like the quality of their swim suits?

@Adira: I got a suit with a high waist bottom from Hapari a few years ago and its held up well

@FaithFertility: @Adira: I've never purchased (not yet, at least), but my friend bought a ruffled tankini. She liked that the material wasn't flimsy and that their size chart was pretty accurate. No returns as of yet, but their policy looks reasonable. She actually wants to purchase more. I plan to buy one sometime this summer.

I would go to a department store and try on a ton of brands.
I have only been successful buying suits online at J Crew and Athleta. Everything else has been a complete bust, including my favorite Lands End!

I have heard LOTS of people rave about this one. Its cheap so worth a try.

I love the one piece from modcloth!http://www.modcloth.com/shop/onepiece-swimwear/bathing-beauty-one-piece-swimsuit-in-black

@T.H.O.U.: haha, I actually have that suit! But I got it when I was heavier and it definitely doesn't fit me anymore. But it never really fit me well to begin with. I don't have the boobs to fill it, unfortunately. I'm thinking my best bet will be a two piece so I get bottoms and top separately.

@T.H.O.U.: I have those! For the price they're pretty great! BUT my boobs are too big for my size (which will always be the case if I buy one piece or non-bra size).

@junebugsmama: That suit is gorgeous! But I suspect I'd have the same issue with it as I have with the Walmart one-piece. I have a small chest, so if it fits my stomach and hips, it will be too big on top.

@snowjewelz: Thanks! I'll check there, although they look pretty pricey.

@Adira: My SIL has a small chest and swears by bandeau style tops.

I tried this one on recently and it was very flattering but too small for my large bust. The tank part is a transparent material so I'm not sure how it would hold up in the water.

I liked this one because I felt the shirred bottom part was very forgiving.

@newlypregnantlady: Thanks! It sounds like I should go check out Target!

@Adira: Target definitely has a lot of options - even more online! I struggled because my torso is too long for the size suit I need....and my chest is too big for it to be okay for the top of a one piece to sit a little low. But they had LOADS of tankini top/skirted bottom mix & match options last time I was swimsuit shopping.

@PinkElephant: I have a long torso too, which definitely makes suit buying more difficult!!

i splurged on this swimsuit the summer after my baby was born. I still wear it because it is so forgiving even though I have lost most of my baby weight
it wears so well, hides a multitude of sins, but makes you look GOOD

this is the exact one I have, but I think for this season there are other prints in this cut.

I'm about 12 weeks postpartum and I just ordered a suit from Albion with a shirred waist (we're headed on a maternity leave vacation). I got it yesterday and was pretty satisfied with the result (hiding that jiggly belly!).

@Adira: I just ordered the one @T.H.O.U.: recommended in the gingham print. Will let everyone know what I think!

this may not be what you're thinking of, but i have a fitted magenta rash guard from athleta that manages to make me feel cute. plus i don't worry about sunscreen for arms/back or any wardrobe malfunctions while playing with the kids.

I like the Aqua Blue brand tankinis at Target!

@PinkElephant: I hope you like it esp. with a long torso!

@Adira: I wanted to chime in that I buy stuff from Venus regularly and thier material doesn't feel cheap to me, and the sizing seems to be true to size in most things to slightly big in others.

I got a Magicsuit assymetrical Red tankini top from Macys and it's perfect for tummy coverage and supporting the ladies!!! you can find it through another retailer Im sure.... I love it!
pear / 1632 posts
@agold: Oh I saw them on sharktank They are so dang cute!! But I wonder if they will actually be flattering on a "mom" bod with a tummy because those girls are tiny skinny!

@Adira: I just got a great suit at Everything But the Water. There is probably a store near you? It's nice because you can actually try them on... not sure what you're thinking of spending. The one I got was about $100, but it was on sale so maybe $75-ish after that, and the quality is excellent.

I just splurged and bought the Panache Anya Bandeau Tankini - the length is quite long and can be ruched up, but the best bit is that the top has an actual PROPER built in underwire bra. I've got big boobs, and its amazing how supported I felt with what is essentially a strapless bra. It does have thin little straps that you can attach for extra support.

Mrs. Bee mentioned Kortni Jeane swimsuits last year (http://www.hellobee.com/2016/06/22/the-most-flattering-swimming-suits/) and I ended up buying one that I liked. It's a tankini with a ruffly swing top and a high-waisted bottom.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Jackiedavis87: Thanks! I was looking at Venus last night and they have some pretty cute things, so I think I might go with them, at least for a tankini top. Their high rise bottoms don't look high enough for me, so I might just get a black bottom somewhere else. But glad to know of the quality and sizing!!
@jh524: Oh wow, that is sooooo cute!!!

This tankini top from Athleta is very flattering -- sucks your belly in and hides the sag!
