My membership expired and I need to renew. I had the Executive Level membership this year and I am not sure it was worth it. Which level membership do you have?

Executive level. We easily spend $250/mth there and with our gas and amex rewards it's def worth it for us!

We had an executive membership but haven't shopped there in over a year.
WIll renew our membership when we move to our new house probably.

Executive! We go every few months (it's about 2 hours away for us) and stock up on everything. I loooove getting that check in the mail, too It usually pays for itself after the first or second trip.

We have whatever the base membership is. I really don't like going in there, too crazy! We go when we need to for dog food and get some of the basics then, but generally avoid it if possible

Executive. They swore for us we would actually make money, but I have yet to see it.

Executive. With how much we spend there, our rebate check more than covers the membership fee.

We had standard membership for years and upgraded this year to executive.

@boogs: yeah, I'm thinking maybe we just don't shop there enough to make money. Also, our costco doesn't have gas, so maybe that makes a difference.

@Pancakes: some years our executive makes us money, but some it doesn't. What keeps us renewing as executive is that they match the $55 upgrade fee from the basic membership, so even if we only get a $25 rebate check, they bump it to $55 so it evens out to be the same cost as a basic membership. Gas at ours doesn't count towards the rebate, otherwise it would make us a ton more money.

Our executive paid for one extra shopping trip last year. We try to buy everything we can at costco.

@MrsRoo: Same with us. It makes me mad that our Costco includes the gas charges in their calculation of your potential savings when they sell you the upgrade but it doesn't count in the refund.
At least they give the upgrade fee back if you don't get the refund (or pay for next year? Not sure)

@MrsRoo: wait, how do you get your check bumped up to $55? I think we were short one year but it didn't adjust up to $55.

@HabesBabe: @Pancakes: you just have to take it to the membership desk and they will give you another with the difference. The first time we didn't hit the minimum, I forgot and used it. The next time we went to Costco, they looked up our account and still issued us a rebate check for the difference.

I'm pretty sure we just have the standard membership. I don't even know what the executive membership is.

Just the standard level (whichever that is). When I was in college a few years ago my boyfriend at the time had a friend who worked there, and even though I haven't spoken to the guy in over 3 years I still have the free membership from him. When ever it ends we will buy one ourselves but again just the basic.

@MrsRoo: We're the same way. We always have the executive membership because if we don't earn enough back in rebates, we just go and ask for the difference.

Executive {Hubs, free from MIL} and Business {Me, free from Costco employee/family member}

We have Executive. The first year, we just broke even, but after that we always got enough rebates to pay for the Executive membership the following year, so it was worth it to us.
