I lean pretty far left and agree most with the green party platforms, but I vote democratic in most state/national elections.

I get annoyed with my republican friends that say they are moderate, but vote for the republican in EVERY election. Just own it!

I tend to lean more to the left. I won't be voting this year (boo) because my voter's registration wasn't updated in time.

@sunny: I've been eligible for a long time. Just lazy. I think I'm going to apply this next year.

I am one of the few lone Republicans around here. I'm socially moderate, and fiscally conservative. In a perfect world I would be a Libertarian, but I don't think we can be trusted to govern ourselves. I want to vote, but I don't like either of our candidates for senate.

I'm a liberal, originally from the Northeast and transplanted in Texas. Surprisingly, though, Houston is pretty liberal so, as far as local elections, I'm in the majority.

Bleeding-heart liberal social worker here! So I typically vote Democrat, though not always!

Also a bleeding-heart liberal. I work with kiddos and up until my current assignment, always worked in very low income schools and I 100% believe the US should have better social nets--health care, subsidized child care, maternity leave, after school programs, free lunches, ALL THE STUFF. I kind of want the US to be a cross between Canada and Japan, lol. 'Murica

Another bleeding heart liberal! Pretty much all republican politicians are on my $hit list for the war on women garbage. And I totally have a girl crush on Elizabeth Warren.

Very liberal socially, fiscally moderate. Social issues are the far more important issue to me - I would rather pay slightly higher taxes and know that I have free quality health care, quality schools, and a strong social safety net should the unforeseen happen (hence why I now live in England!) Bearing those things in mind, I nearly always vote Democratic.

I just don't see myself ever voting for a Republican as I'd sooner cut up my American passport than vote for an anti-choice candidate, or one who is against gay marriage and equal rights for all.

I float between Democrat and Libertarian. Mostly Libertarian, but I can't really label myself.
I will never, ever vote for an anti-choice, anti-marriage equality candidate, and I most closely examine a candidate's voting record in regards to women's issues.

@MrsSCB: and @Ree723: agree with you totally on social issues being more important, probably in part because I don't see clear fiscal conservation from either party.

@Boheme: Do you have Libertarian candidates that are pro-choice/pro-equality? Around here, all the Libertarian candidates running are super, super right-wing. They think our tea-party-identified Governor is too moderate.

Curious if this holds true in other areas, or not!

My husband works in the coal industry, and the war on coal is a constant discussion in our home. Most people assume there are better options and right now they do not feasibly exist.

Extremely liberal here. I've only ever voted for Democrats, although that means I'm in the minority in local elections!

@lawbee11: Probably not since most of the state leans right. It's a shame because I really like her and the other option is just as bad as Perry.
