Subscribing - I have the same choices come June!

I have the Medela one, and I think it's pretty similar/the same as the PIS? I know nothing about pumps, but it seems to be the same... On my insurance EOB, the pump price was like $350, so I figured it has to be a good one?

I really love that my ameda is a closed system. Not sure about the medela pump you mentioned. The only extras i bought for the ameda were another set of flanges, and an extra set of valves and diaphragms. The bottles you have would work with it.

I have the medela double one (probably same as yours, insurance covered it) and I like it! It would be nice to already have parts and stuff. Mine came in a beige tote, in case you were wondering/if that makes a difference.

@highwire: I just did a quick online search about the medela you are eligible for; it sounds like it is very similar to the PISA (uses the same motor). Since you don't have to buy new spare parts I'd say go for that one.

@LaineysMom: my insurance covered rentals but only up to the cost of the purchase price of the pumps they offered so I don't think that would last very long.

I got the Ameda purely yours free from my insurance. I also am borrowing a friends' Medela pump in style (so I have one at work and one at home). I like the Ameda because it's more portable, easier to travel with, and easier to clean (can't get moisture in the tubing). Also, I bought bigger flanges, etc on amazon so I had no problem getting spare parts.

Ultimately I think the PIS is a little more powerful though. So, I would say you really can't go wrong??
