I think the honed subway tile had the best chance of being more timeless, but they all look nice.

I don't know about timeless, but I like the herringbone pattern the best. It's the most visually interesting to me.

I like the herringbone in these pics but in other pictures I think it often looks really busy/distracting

In this color palette, I like 1, then 3, then 2 the best.

Herringbone probably isn't "timeless" but I like this particular pattern/color. I don't think I'd like it as much if it had more color to it.

The beveled subway tile is probably the most "timeless" but that's because it's what you see on exteriors on any brick home. That's what it reminds me of. I like it, but I like the herringbone you showed better for a kitchen.

The middle subway tile reminds me of something I'd pick for a shower. I think it's nice, but it wouldn't be my selection for my kitchen.

I like the Herringbone best with that design, then Subway second!

If you're doing a smaller tile like the ones pictured for the herringbone, then I would go for the herringbone layout. Otherwise, I'd do the regular running bond layout (subway). Love them all though, and I think they're all pretty classic.

I think herringbone is the most timeless. I like the look of subway tile as well but I think it's a trend (derivative from the 20s and 30s) that will pass before herringbone does.

We did solid white beveled subway tile and I love it! It was SO much less expensive than a more labor intensive tile so we had more money to slend on appliances. That herringbone pattern is really pretty too though!

Agree with picking what you like.

I dont really care for subway tile with the veins (I just like the white or a solid gray). So if youre doing the marbled then I would go with the herringbone.

Flat subway tile is most timeless.

I like the marble herringbone too, but it is VERY trendy.

I looove herringbone! Tho one of the subways is probably more timeless. But I'd just go with the herringbone!
