I bought these two items and trying to decide which one to gift a one year old girl. Here's a link to the elephant so you can see it's features.

I vote for piano - only because we received a number of ride-on/walker toys for J's first birthday and he really only used one.

I voted for ride-on because my lo LOOOOOVED (still loves) ride-on toys. L.O.V.E.

I voted piano, because I love the quality and look of Melissa and Doug toys. Plus, it's a toy that could be used longer and grow with the child/

DS was obsessed with anything he could push or ride on so I voted for elephant

The piano, we also received several different ride/push toys!

Is it for your kid or someone else's? If yours go piano. If someone else's, ride on (less obnoxious noise!)

I think the elephant will get more play, however the piano is usually thought of as a nicer gift and will outlast the elephant.
I voted elephant (I'd save the piano for a later date).

We just got the piano and it's sooo small. I didn't read the dimensions I guess. Lol. I can't imagine a 3 year old using it. LO is 9 months and seems to like it though. I'd still chose the piano.

Think it depends on what the kid already has. DD loves her walker but we wouldn't want more than one.

My one year old wouldn't know what to do with the piano. I vote elephant.

I voted piano because we have received 2 walkers and 2 ride on as gifts. I think they are pretty common first birthday gifts.

The elephant! My sister got my LO a similar ride-on toy for her first birthday and she loved it and still likes to play with it to this day!

My son has the elephant and loves using it to practice walking but is too short to use it as a ride on. lol. the piano looks really nice too

The piano, but that's only because my LO hates ride on toys! Most other toddlers seem to love them though.

I think it depends on the kid. My son is 16 months and would probably like the piano better. He doesn't really care about his ride on toys.

Piano. My boys love music and don't really care about ride on toys.
