Bill Cosby! And for a newer comedian I'd say Jim Gaffigan & Bill Engvall... Sadly most comedians today exceed our "parental advisory" limits.

Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle before he went mia.

@runsyellowlites: hot pockets!
I like Gerry Dee for the clean material. i liked Mitch Hedberg too. I liked Russell Peters' old stuff...the new stuff is too raunchy and not funny at all.

@runsyellowlites: you would probably love Brian Regan! I can't think of a single off-color or cuss-filled joke off hand of his! That's one thing I like about him. I liked Dane Cook at first but he got SO filthy it stopped being funny! I know what ya mean!

Bill Cosby is and always will be amazing. I thought Mitch Hedberg was hilarious but he's not alive anymore. I really really like Jim Gaffigan and, surprisingly, Daniel Tosh's stand up (I can't STAND his show).

Stephen Colbert. Love Bill Cosby too (best comedy video ever is Bill Cosby as himself).

@Mrs. Jacks: I love the end the best.. "The same children who were just singing praises to me....." BAH! lol I've seriously seen that whole thing TOO many times! (yes, we own it)

Demetri Martin is also hilarious.

@SAHM0811: the one where he talks about the mini-vacation after you out the kid in the car seat and shut the door had us in tears. I think he is brilliant. Hav you seen his new stand up special? It reminded me even more of George carlin... Dark and very smart
grapefruit / 4049 posts
@Silva: yes!!! I love that bit! And everytime I strap my two in their carseats and shut the door, I think of it! Hahaha! I also love his story about how his kid uttered her first sentence... and he and his ex were like, "(gasp!) her first sentence!"... and they were so happy/proud... they hugged... But then it was something like, "I don't like chicken" and she wouldn't eat. Then it was like, "Just eeeeeaaaaatttt! They know I have you.... You're on the grid....!" He is so relatable!
And yeah, we were excited about the new show because it had been a while since something new from him. Totally dark, I agree (like when he talked about what it would be like if murder were legal... LOL). A while back when we had heard he admires George Carlin, we watched some of his past stuff too and, yes.... Totally see the similarities and love their humor!!

Jim Gaffigan, George Carlin, Lisa Lampanelli, Margaret Cho, Bill Cosby, Mitch Hedburg, and Louis CK. Ellen's standup was really funny back in the day, too.

@SAHM0811: @Silva: I love his story about the wild ponies he let his daughter pet in Italy. And the one where he accidentally told his daughter the universe would eventually end when the sun explodes lol.

My favorite is Jim Gaffigan, I listen to him at work sometimes for a pick me up.

@SAHM0811: I thought the bit in the new show about how crazy it is that women go out with men, given that men are the greatest threat to women was great. I am so happy to see a smart, feminist comedian getting people to (hopefully) think

My new favorite is Aziz Ansari... esp the routines about his little cousin

@SAHM0811: OMG, his skit on the importance of what children say was hilarious. Daddy, can I tell you a secret?? What could she possibly know that I don't already?! hahaha
I love Ricky Gervais. Looooove. I'm also a big fan of Margaret Cho.
