DH and I both WOH full time. If we get a call from daycare that one of the kids is sick I'm the one who leaves work to get them. Based on our careers it just makes sense. I can leave work and pick up the next day without it affecting much of anything but DH needs to be available and has targets to meet monthly.
It seems a little cliche but I'm totally cool with it

It depends on who drove that day. Usually, it's me since it makes more sense to drop DH and LO off at the same time (daycare is in the same complex as his office).

Usually DH. He's home two days a week. If we're both at the office it depends on the schedule and how the next day looks since LO will probably be home that day too.

Depends, but usually neither of us. My mom would do it.

If daycare calls during the day, I have to leave work because we are a one car family. But if LO is sick at night/in the morning, then we take turns using our sick days.

I do, because we only have one car right now and I do drop-off and pick-up and drive to work (D rides his bike). But if we need to stay home with him D usually will. He has way more leave than I do right now, and if it's on a Monday or something he can go back into work for several hours after I get home.

DH teaches high school so I do it because even though I have the higher paying more corporate job, I also have greater autonomy and flexibility.

Depends on what we each have going on that day. If he isn’t in class at that moment, DH will. If I can just call into my meetings vs. having to be there, I will. If both of us have commitments, one of the grandmothers will pick LO up, and either DH or I will try to take off from work as soon as we can.

We've both done it. Usually it's me because they call me first and my work is pretty flexible, but if I had meetings or something, he would do it. We've also taken turns staying home with sick kids.

Totally depends on our schedules that day. We're about equal in terms of our unavailability and we commute together. So we just always pray that one of us doesn't have a client meeting if one of the kids is sick. Although, Wagon Sr. runs events about once a month so if it falls on a day he's running an event, it has to be me.

I'm the more flexible parent and her daycare is 10 minutes from my office.

Depends, but usually DH, unless he has a meeting. He works 5 minutes from daycare, and it would take me 45 minutes at least to get there.

It depends.. Certain days/time DH is more flexible, and if he is not, then it's me.

Depends on the day. I think we've only had to leave to pick her up once or twice, so it doesn't happen very often.

DH and I have both switched jobs in the last year. Previously it was always me because DH had no flexibility and I worked in a hospital where someone could usually cover. Now I'm part time and home more. If it were to happen on one of my work days then DH would have to because I work in an outpatient setting where I have patients scheduled and have to be on site for emergencies. DH also has a lot more flexibility in his new job with sick time he can use which is something new for us.

It depends. If I'm working from home, I can easily run over to get him from school...but I usually work from home the days that my dad or FIL are watching him. If I'm in the city, it takes me an hour and a half to get home while DH is 20 minutes away, so he picks him up!

We trade off. The kids are on site with DH's work but if he has impt meetings that day, I'll leave work instead. We both work in pretty family-friendly environments and can telecommute if necessary.

Usually me, but only because DD2 has been breastfed until recently. Now either one of us can get them.

My husband works from home so he does it, but I will try to leave work earlier that day to help out.

Most of the time, it's me since I work from home. I just got called today. I think my daughter pulled a fast one on all of us.

Me, unless I'm absolutely tied up in site visits or meetings. I can make up the hours on nights and weekends. DH has to lose vacation or sick time if he takes off.

I'm still pregnany, so we'll see how it works out, but I imagine it'll be me two days per week and my husband the other three. All about availability and flexibility.

Almost always DH. He has the PTO and the flexibility in his schedule to leave/work from home. I do not.

Me. I work for a family business that is very flexible. There could be a slight off chance that DH would but it would depend on timing.

It's almost always me. Or, my parents. Never DH.

DH - he's a college teacher but it's easy for him to find subs and he only teaches 1-2 classes a day, the rest are office hours typically. They're really flexible and great about letting him go if he needs to.
My work was never accommodating at all. And I can't leave school either, or I could potentially fail out of the program (depending on if it's a lab or clinical day - those are mandatory attendance days).
