Who do you find is usually the person who takes your LO to play dates? You? SO? Both of you? Someone else?
There was some talking about a play date with some kids at school and DH said, "Oh yeah you should go do that," and I just thought I don't see why it was assumed that was something only I would be doing.

I'm not a SAHM, so I don't go on play dates often. If anything, we visit friends, but we almost always do that together. If they have kids the same age as our LOs, then we leave them play. On occasion, I'll see a friend and her kids, but again...I don't see that as a play date. I see that as me getting together with a friend of mine and bringing our kiddos along. Plus, both of my kids are in day care, so I don't have much of an issue with socializing them. They get plenty of socialization in school.

I SAH so it's usually me but sometimes my husband will take M on a play date with friends of his and their kids.

it's all me. no way would my husband take my kids on a play date. i don't think he believes in play dates lol, since he never had any and he came out fine. lol. o and birthday parties? maybe if they serve alcohol.

@tequiero21: I feel weird saying this, but I'm not a play date fan either, so I totally get where your DH is coming from. My DH thinks they are great, yet somehow thinks they are my responsibility.

@Boogs: no judgments! no one says a mother has to enjoy play dates! i enjoy them because it's pretty much my only form of socialization. and i still only do it rarely. lol@ i love how dhs love to volunteer us for things.

In the past, it's been me, but that's because the other mom reached out to me specifically. We've both gone to birthday parties for lo's daycare friends though, except maybe 1 or 2, and we both attend potlucks that the daycare organizes if we're both available. But I can def see dh taking lo on a playdate if I was busy or if he was the one making the plans.

I'm not a SAHM so all of our playdates have been on weekends - both DH and I have always gone together.

well for me, play dates means i'm hanging out with my friends who have kids the same age! so i take them because i put them together!
