Who watches Game of Thrones?

What did everyone think of last night episode? I don't even know where to start! I loved it!

I was so surprised and excited that they started with Jon and Daenerys at Dragonstone. I laughed out loud several times. The first time was when Jon said, "I'm not a Stark" and then the dragon flew over his head. I also got a kick out of Davos's introduction of Jon after Missandei's long introduction of Daenerys. I loved all of the dialogue in the Dragonstone scenes.

I am going to miss Olenna Tyrell. She was awesome and one of my favorite characters. I thought the scene between her and Jaime was perfect. She was a badass all the way to the end.

I loved the fantastic dialogue from Tyrion in this episode! I didn't realize how much I missed his wit until we got it back!

My favorite was the scene of him and Jon "brooding" at the top of the cliff

@NCSUchick27: @SteelerGirl: yes, I was so happy to see Jon and Tyrion back together!

I thought this episode actually had a lot of funny moments. I liked it!

I don't like how weird and cold Bran was with his reunion with Sansa, though. That seemed so strange to me. Could he not take two seconds to explain that the previous three-eyed raven started to train him, died, and he then took over?

Also sad to see the Queen of Thornes go; she was amazing. But such a great scene to go out on!

I also thought the scene with Ellaria, Cersei, and Tyene was really well-acted.

@theotherstark: Yes, I liked all the funny moments in last night's episode!

I was surprised that Jamie let Olenna Tyrell die from the poison even after she admitted to poisoning Joffrey, I thought for sure he was going to end up killing her with his sword after that omission.

I don't think Jamie has/had much love in his heart for Joffrey.

The scene in the dungeons I thought was haunting.

I'm finding myself a bit frustrated with Dany - I'm rooting for Sansa to be the winner in all this, with Jon Snow as her hand/sergeant at arms. I don't want Cersei or Dany to win.

@NCSUchick27: Davos’ introduction of Jon totally made me LOL too “….and here’s this guy.”

One interesting thing: DH and I went back and watched a couple of our favorite episodes from earlier seasons last night and in one a few seasons ago, Lord Varys says to Ollena Tyrell about Littlefinger that “he would see the country burn if he could be king of the ashes”. Of course, this season Ollena then warns Dany that’s she’s not here to be queen of the ashes. I like seeing little threads like that, across seasons.

Olenna went out like a G! She gulps down the wine and then was all “btw, here’s a big ole secret!” Badass until the very end.

Who watched last night? Obviously the whole battle scene was amazing ... the last 5 seconds were so intense. And, another semi-vague ending determining the fate of a main character.

I watched last night. I really like all the Arya parts. Also the look on Littlefinger's face a few times, first when Bran quotes him, then when he sees Arya fighting.

One thing I'm annoyed about is that the show is so obviously setting up a romance between Jon and Dany and...ick. I just don't want to see it and I don't understand why this show (and books) is so obsessed with incest.

apparently the script leaked and the ending we saw is a little different and more vague than what was on the script. Who knows is Jamie will die?

I don't want to see Dany and Snow hook up. He and Sansa do such a good job playing siblings that Dany and him should be able to as well.

I am so disappointed with Tyrion. I mean he is just outsmarted at every turn.

Did anyone else notice how literal the cave paintings were when it came to the Whitewalkers? Seemed a little too convenient and phony.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Dany and Jon aren't siblings, they are aunt and nephew (lol doesn't really make it better though).

I also laughed at the cave pictures. At work today everyone joked that Jon just drew in the white walkers himself and that's why they looked different.

@catlady: run this past me again... They aren't half siblings? Wasn't it her father that raped his mom?

  12. catlady

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: No, it was Dany's older brother Rhaegar. And although the Starks claim she was kidnapped and raped, it's probable that she actually went with him willingly.

I love the Jon and Dany romance! They seem to be the only truly good people in this whole saga so naturally I want to see them rule together as King and Queen and be happily ever after.

@catlady: ok, ok... So one of the dragons is named after Jon's dad. Hmm Oh gosh I still don't want them hooking up.

Can we talk a little about how awesome everyone looks in the black battle outfits? It's like all the seamstresses in the 7 kingdoms got the same memo.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Yes! Love the outfits this season. Even Arya looks good these days lol.

@catlady: I was thinking they were half siblings as well. I guess aunt/ nephew is ever so slightly better. Is there anyone alive who knows who Jon's parents are? That we know of at least?

@Foodnerd81: I don't think we know of anyone. Bran should probably know since apparently he knows everything. Howland Reed (Meera and Jojan's father) should also probably know since he was with Ned at the Tower of Joy when Jon was born but he hasn't appeared at all in the show other than in that flashback so I'm assuming he isn't going to be the one to say anything.

@Foodnerd81: Bran definitely knows. Last season we saw him witness a flashback of Jon's birth.
Also, I think last episode Bran asked to see Jon because he had "something to tell him"? Am I making this up?

  19. theotherstark

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

@SteelerGirl: yep, Bran knows and said he had something to tell Jon.

I loved the episode! The battle scene was amazing; all of the ash floating around, the Dothraki riders, etc. So great. I was so worried the dragon was going to die I don't think it will, though; it seemed okay. I don't think Jamie is dead, either. I imagine Tyrion takes him prisoner. Wonder if he'll release him as a tit for tat, like Jamie released him?

The Arya and Brienne scene was awesome. I love them together and hope they become a good team. And Arya finally back in her Stark clothes looks amazing!

Also, I loved how Arya was like' why the eff is Littlefinger here?'

That's right, Bran knows which is how the audience knows.

For the sake of time I think the producers are playing with time. Seems like characters are getting to where they want to be awfully quick.

  22. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@theotherstark: I had to watch the producer comments at the end to understand why that scene was so amazing. Duh Arya has been a badass for awhile, but the rest of the characters didn't know that!

Does anyone know what bran said to little finger after he gave him the dagger? I couldn't make it out and LF looked confused and surprised.

    Finally some dragon action

And by the way I don't think Jamie died. In GOT you know when someone dies. There is blood or fire or disembowlment or someone being beheaded or some other awfulness. If you don't see an actual death, it didn't happen.

@Littlebit7: he sa said 'chaos is a ladder,' which littelfinger said to varys early on. So petyr knows bran is wise to him.

@catlady: Arya's outfit while she was fighting brienne was on point 💯
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: @SteelerGirl: I don't want Dany and Jon getting together bc ick but I was thinking that since Dany can't have kids that Jon would be next in line for succession. So he'll need to find a nice girl to settle down with to continue the dynasty :silly

I loved this episode! I literally got emotional watching the dragons going into battle, haha. I'm like don't hurt the dragons! My guess is that at least one of them will be going down.

You know at a least one major character is going to die by the end of this season. I wonder and am scared who! I'm really rooting for everyone except Cersei at this point.
