Edit: morning brain ... ignore my comment, I was still half asleep and didn't watch the video

Before I watch the video: isn't because the baby's head is fragile and that kind of neck/shoulder allows more room to safely put the shirt over the baby's head?
ETA: after the video. Aha!

I always thought it was for their big heads. But, I have actually used it the way it's meant to be and pulled it down to avoid poop on face. I though I was just clever.

I just saw that on FB yesterday - mind blown. Why didn't I know this two and a half years ago?!?

Ahhh!!! I wish I had known this before!! So glad to know it now before baby #2 arrives!

I always assumed it was to avoid having to pull the onesie over the head when babies are small and have little to no neck control (not just for poop explosions). I find it easier this way than removing it over the head. LO is 15 months and I still remove her onesies this way!

Boy do I feel dumb! It never occurred to me to use it that way either... Thanks

I figured this out early in the game. LO had a lot of blowouts. My mom confirmed it one day when she was changing LO.

I seriously never knew this. It would have been a game changer for me. They always sell them as "easy to get over babies head".

@Foodnerd81: I kind of wish I had known this 2.5 years ago just for the poop on the head issue.

I saw this somewhere when I was pregnant - definitely super helpful for blowouts!

I actually knew this! Well, more like figured it out at some point. We actually run into trouble b/c DH tried to roll down shirts that don't have those things and it gets caught on her butt. Lol.

I knew this but only because a friend shared it with me shortly after I had my first. That's how I remove all onesies now.

I had NO clue. I sort of wish I still had onesies for her just so I could do it this way.

Maybe I am new to this, but can we please talk about how she is referring to the diaper blowouts as poo-nami's??!!!! This was also a clever trick I never knew, but was very distracted by poo-nami.

I didn't know either. Not that obvious. . . should have instructions or something for onesies!

I read this, and got to use this trick today when my son had a blowout. Amazing and I feel cheated I didn't know about this until 11 months in.
