DS has been throwing some horrible down right unbearable tantrums the last few months and they seem to be getting worse and worse...he will be turning 2 soon and I'm just wondering if there is any light at the end of the tunnel

I know this isn't always the case, but for us 2 was the light at the end of the tunnel. 18-24 months was ROUGH and suddenly he turned 2 and it got so much better. He has his moments, but really no major tantrums at all. I think language development has a big part to do with it. He'll try to bargain with us now instead of just throwing himself to the floor. That has it's own set of challenges, but I prefer it!

It comes in waves for us. We had a period after turning 2 where our morning routine was miserable with tantrums. I instituted a sticker chart which really curbed them. We still have tantrums in general, but it's a lot of whining or tired more than anything. It's all testing what he can get away with.
