I'm not sure how my kids would do with fireworks, so I'm still undecided! Im leaning towards no just because they don't typically start until after 10pm. We will be out of state for the weekend though, so if something is held there before the 4th we may consider it.

I don't think so. We did last year and while I think he enjoyed it, it was so late and he definitely isn't the type to make up for a late night by sleeping in! Haha

Yes. We went last year because it was on a Saturday. She LOVED them! She was just 3 at the time. This year we are going to a ball game on the weekend and will see them after the game.

She loves them! We went last year near my parents house and this year we'll be at the beach. we'll either go up on the boardwalk or bring a blanket and sit in the sand. One year (before kids) we started a game of mini golf on the boardwalk right before they started and it was great the course was clear and we had a perfect uncrowded view of the fireworks.

No, we never do, which is a shame because we live in a place that makes it very easy to see them (we'd just have to walk a few blocks). But they don't start until 10:30 and we have work the next day so it doesn't seem worth it. I don't even stay up until 10:30 these days.

We're undecided. They're so late, and it sucks that the next day is a work/daycare day. Plus, D doesn't like loud noises. But fireworks are, like, my most favorite thing in the world. IF we are going to take them, we'll try to find somewhere that we can watch them where they won't be too loud.

We're definitely doing 3rd of July fireworks where we can watch from a friends house and put the baby down there so DD1 can stay up. Not sure we'll make it on the actual 4th!

I actually thought about it this year but I looked up the schedule and they don't start until 9:30pm. So, nope.

We're going to my parent's and the show starts at 10. He'll probably still be up so we'll go to the backyard to watch.

We're undecided. DD2 will be asleep and at 4 mos I am not worried about her "seeing" them. DD1 is almost 3 - we've been debating waking her up for them (she usually goes down around 730, fireworks will start here around 9:30...so maybe.

I don't think so - we'll be with my family at the cottage and they put on a good show but it's so late. Mrs D's idea of waking him up to see them hadn't occurred to me, maybe we'll do that - I would like to experience it with him!

No. It's too late for them to stay up, and the noise would bother my kids. The sound of the toilet flushing is already too much for them.

We usually watch out of our window (yay location) but we've gone out a couple of times and just dressed the baby for bedtime in case she fell asleep in the stroller. Last summer she was a newborn and slept through the whole thing. This year she loooves it!
All these lucky people whose kids are usually asleep by ten! I don't even know what that's like, might as well make the best of living with my Energizer bunnies

No way. In exhausted by 9:30/ 10 when they start, even if they both go to bed on time. Add in all our illnesses and this will be the least festive fourth ever.

We can usually see some fireworks from my sister's backyard (where we stay for the 4th), but my kids are usually in bed before dark! DS gets nervous with loud noises, so I don't think he'd enjoy them yet. Maybe in a couple years we will let hem stay up! They're only 2 now.

Not this year, we're under a fire ban, so we don't even know if there WILL be fireworks. there's a possibility since the fireworks are let off over the harbour.

No, way past her bedtime. I considered getting a sitter so we could go, but I wouldn't want to subject a sitter to all the barking the dogs will do when the fireworks go off.

They are legal in our county. So I'll likely just have to bring her out on the porch of our master bedroom and she can see plenty. She was really scared of them last year though.
