The day my husband heard that Ringling Bros was closing up shop, he decided he wanted us to go so our LO could see the circus. I'm not sure she's old enough for it yet but he really wants to go, so we'll go.
Will you take the kids to go see the circus one last time?

Pretty sure it's too late...the elephants are retired in Florida!

@Mrs Green Grass: They retired the elephants last year and the sales went downhill fast - probably why they are shutting down. They still have lions, tigers, other animals, acrobats, etc.

My husband wistfully announced as well that we need to go before it closes. I am not into the circus and even though they don't have the elephants anymore still don't really want to go. But I also felt like I was being a meanie to shoot him down so we'll see...

DH insisted we take LO back when we just had the one kid. I'm not really into the circus so we aren't going to look into going anymore.

We actually have tickets to the last show in May, bought months before they announced the closure. I'm not a big fan but all my MIL wanted for Christmas was tickets to take the grandkids. It will be interesting to see if they do anything special for the last show.

I am so glad they are closing before my son is old enough to ask to go. I would feel bad denying him but I do not consider circus animal practices to be ethical/humane. So I'm glad they are closing, the animals will no longer be mistreated, and I am spared a difficult parenting decision!
There is no way I would go "one last time". I already feel guilty enough going to the zoo (which my son loves to do).

My mom is actually a clown and was planning to take them for the first time this summer. She is really upset not to have the chance.

@SeptMomma12: I almost want to go since its local and where I saw the circus as a little kid. But I doubt we will.

We're going to skip it, since DS isn't old enough to ask and DH and I find the circus to be sad and creepy.
