Just for a minute until I switched the channel to Law and Order!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I got teary eyed a couple of times, too, because I was sad that I can't trust that my daughter will have the opportunities that I felt she would've 8 (or 4) years ago when I wasn't yet even thinking directly about the implications of our president on my future children. Sad & scary times... How does he think that he, alone, can make our country "great" again when he has such a warped sense of reality?!

@LAZB: Oh it doesnt really matter for anything. Just a tiny form of mini protest

I didn't watch, but read the transcript of the speech and it made me so ragey. What an enormous asshole. That's all I can think.

@littlebug: Same, and it seemed like kind of a bummer..."Hey, here are all the ways this country sucks!" was a large part of the theme. I guess it goes with the whole, "Make America great again." I just thought an inauguration might be more uplifting?

ETA: And side note -- since when do we have an "education system flush with cash"?

@littlebug: @MrsSCB: Ugh. I just read it too. I haven't set foot on US soil in about 18 months, but geez, to read this, it sounds like the US is a smoldering pile of nuclear waste with people engaged in hand to hand street combat to claw their way back to something that resembles humanity. But I guess that's his style, outrageousness barely based in reality.

I'm deeply saddened by the riots breaking out now. That's not effective.

@littlebug: Ugh, I was thinking the exact same thing. These riots are a complete embarrassment.

I watched bits and pieces at work, but it was depressing.

I ended up not watching. I'm looking up summaries now.

No I did not watch. He is not worth my time. I don't give audiences to raging misogynists. I hope he gets impeached quickly and we can move on from this disaster ASAP.

I never thought I would miss Dubya but I would embrace him in a heartbeat compared to the Cheeto in Chief.

I did not watch (almost forgot it was on anyway.. Life with toddler/newborn...) and I figure there will be tons of new clips sound bites, commentary after anyway.

@ElbieKay: I kept saying that about Romney this year. I long for the days when the worst thing a presidential candidate said was "binders full of women".

Nope. No time for that nonsense - particularly since I was on my way to protesting in DC.

No, I was working. I still would not have watched if I hadn't been at work.
