You could do bamboo or rollers at the top but they might look a little heavy at the top of the windows.
I wouldn’t discount curtains just yet. If you just want to filter the light a little maybe something really light and gauzy? IKEA normally has a couple of options. That way you could just pull them late afternok , still get great light but no glare. I agree tho that the current curtains you put up don’t quite work.
As an aside, that is a lovely room. And can I take a nap on that sofa with a roaring fire going please!?

I agree with you, the white ones look way better than the blue ones. Maybe something even airier, lighter than those though.

I would do a combo of bamboo shades and curtains. I have windows like that in my living room, and you really need one curtain panel per window. In your case I would hang one long rod above the window and then get six panels.

@Foodnerd81: yes they are inside mounted. We really love them. This is in our sun room so it gets really bright and they add the perfect amount of filter and make the room feel more finished. I like the idea of a PP to get bamboo and then one rod of sheer curtains.

What if you ran a continuous rod all around the room and gathered the curtains in the corners when you weren't using them?

If you are not in love with the white, I found some colored light, gauzy curtains at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. We have brown in one room, and a light greeny-blue in another. We also have them double-hung with thicker curtains. Maybe you could do something light and gauzy for all of the windows, with a heavier curtain on each end as a visual anchor.

We're in the same boat as you with no window treatments in our new home. Seeing your decor motivates me to get it together. Loving your rug and ottoman/coffee table. We have a similar room and couch but ive yet to add more decor.
