I've done it! I saw my friend's close friend on the subway platform. I had never met her before but I saw her wedding pics and I said, "Hey, excuse me!" And just like a native New Yorker she ignored me, so I had to say it again and say, "Hey I'm a friend of So and So's" and she finally turned to me and said Hi. It was funny.

Sure. I am not shy.

Nope. I'm awkward. Sometimes I avoid talking to people that I know.

When we bought our house, the owners had pictures up all over the house. Well, lo and behold, I saw the woman at the train station one morning and I introduced myself. She knew my name because we had already made an offer and I have kind of a unique name, lol.
