My baby fever is rampant right now. Knowing that my solution to my TTC issues is coming soon (and keeping my fingers crossed that we do get lucky after) I keep looking at my secret pinterest board for my non-existent child and wonder about starting a registry. I would be the type of person who uses myregistry.com not caring where people bought what I wanted.
Am I crazy? I feel like I am!

A secret wish list--yes! An actual registry--no. I looked at lots of baby stuff online while trying and would mark things in an Amazon secret list so I could remember items I liked.

I agree with @Happygal: secret wishlist, yes. Registry-- heck no. Just transfer stuff over to the registry when you really start it. And you can add non-Amazon items to Amazon registries, too.

I had a private registry before my bfp. I just kept track of things I liked with good reviews.

I had a private amazon wish list & secret boards on Pinterest, but didn't start the registry until after our BFP.

Pinterest board or wish list to keep track of items or inspiration, yes. Registry no. I wouldn't feel comfortable signing up for a registry account and adding items when I hadn't gotten to a certain point in my pregnancy yet. I feel the same way regarding a wedding registery when you aren't engaged yet.

I considered it. But ultimately I waited until after the NT scan, when I felt more confident about the health of the pregnancy. I was afraid if I had another miscarriage, the registry might just become another painful reminder.
But I agree with others; a private wish list seems reasonable.

I did have a private amazon wish list (not sure if I started it before Bfp or after). It was mainly to add good product recommendations so I don't forget when it comes time to make an actual registry!

I had a private amazon list (it was really helpful, I'm glad I started well in advance) and a private Pinterest board but nothing public until after I announced my pregnancy.

With my first baby fever wave (when pregnancy wasn't actually an option), I had Pinterest boards and wishlists.
We are NTNP/TTC right now, and yes, I do have a registry (at babylist.com), but only because I didn't want to loose the links of the different sources/places I found items. Everything on the list is gender neutral (until we are pregnant and know the sex). It's a private list, no one knows about it, so it's really just a person wishlist for now.

@stiletto_mom: that's similar to what I have. I pinned a ton of stuff on pinterest, most of which isn't available anymore, and similar to your other post, focusing on absolute needs and reviews, not so much the "this would be fun!" items.

I didn't, because by the time I actually got my BFP, things had changed so much. I feel like every year, there is newer and better stuff.

A private wish-list? Sure! But not an actual registry.
Plus - you'll probably find that a lot of things are discontinued for the next year's version, new product numbers, etc to where your registry wouldn't even be helpful anymore (this happened to us with our wedding registry and we had to basically re-register for more than half of our stuff).
