My daughter's daycare very recently opened up a second toddler room which she just graduated to along with two other babies from her infant class (the ratio is 1:5 and they would presumably eventually hire a second teacher and get more kids but they tend to take their time in finding the right teacher.) One of her infant teachers (who we absolutely adore) also made this transition with them. One of the other moms wasn't thrilled her child won't have older kids to look up to so they are switching her to the other room and they aren't switching anyone in in her place. That means my daughter will be just 1 of 2 in her toddler room. On the one hand, we are essentially getting a nanny share with the regulations of a daycare with a great teacher. On the other hand, we chose a daycare for the socialization aspect and I can't imagine she will get a lot out of the family styles meals with just 1 kids etc. One other thorn is that we are moving in 4 months so I'm not sure if it's worth introducing more change then necessary or making a fuss but I'm also a little miffed right now and am worried the move will be worse if she goes from a class of 2 to 10 later. Thoughts?
