We purchased a glider/rocker for my son's room before he was born, and at the time we decided to buy a cheaper model for financial reasons because paying $1000+ for a chair seemed unreasonable for us. Flash forward 6 months and I have some serious buyers remorse!! The glider we purchased is poorly made and creaks like crazy any time you move in it. It also damaged the rug underneath it because the black paint on the base transferred to the carpet. I emailed the manufacturer and they have been great. They offered to send me a brand new glider plus a second glider (which I'm assuming I'd sell?) to cover the cost of the damage to the carpet.

I'm trying to decide now whether to keep one of the replacement ones they send me, or sell both of the new chairs they send me plus my used one and purchase one of the really nice $1000+ gliders. At this point if I sold both of the new gliders and my used one on Kijiji I wouldn't have to pay anything for a really nice one. We are on baby #1 right now and plan to have another in a few years. My worry is that the new one the manufacturer sends me could end up creaky as well and would drive me crazy all over again BUT I would end up with an extra $600 or so in my pocket if I keep the current model. WWYD?
