With a baby in the house I'm trying to switch out of all the regular store brand cleaners for natural ones but I need stuff that's really effective too, esp for the stove that gets greasy/gross!

We use vinegar and water for most messes. For the grimy/gross, I use Method in the kitchen and Seventh Generation in the bathroom. I have an eco-friendly carpet cleaner/enzyme cleaner for pet messes, but it's in my car right now so I can't check on the brand.

Vinegar and dish soap is my go-to for floors and pee spills, actually. Vinegar is a great deodorizer. I also like the Mrs. Meyers brand of cleaning sprays. Then again, I also use Clorox wipes daily,

I use a brand called Ecover for laundry, dish soap, glass cleaner and I just discovered a spray that is really effective for getting rid of hard water stains in the shower.

@lamariniere: Would you mind sharing the brand of spray that removes hard water stains? I have a glass shower door that is a beast to clean!
For cleaning the stove, I mostly use hot water and dish soap and try to spot clean immediately. If you need to clean drip pans, soak them in hot water with some baking soda and then scrub them with more baking soda.

Most things are a combo of vinegar, water & baking soda! The range I wash with dish soap and water. Baby wipes are surprisingly effective in grease! Bathroom / toilet is where I can't get rid of Clorox bleach spray. And Lysol wipes when people are sick!

I use white vinegar for my floors and stove top, I also use lysol wipes on counters instead of spray

@honeybear: this one! We have a glass shower door too. This week I sprayed it on pretty generously, swirled it around with a cleaning rag to distribute it everywhere and let it sit maybe 10 min before respraying and wiping it off. The door is completely residue free now!

@lamariniere: Thank you!!! I blasted that door with vinegar/newspaper/Method window cleaner (in between obsessively squeegeeing the darn thing after every shower) and I still have spots. I'm definitely going to get some of this. Yay!

This isn't "natural", but more so that traditional cleaners: I mix Dawn dish soap and vinegar 1:1 and warm slightly in the microwave. Spray on shower, let sit for a bit and wipe off with Mr. Clean sponge. Most amazing mixture I have ever used. Cleans the shower in a jiffy.

@honeybear: Seriously~ Sqeegee doesn't work that great! I think it only prevents it from getting worse! I usually have to throw on Bon Ami or something and scrub it!

I love Better Life cleaning products. The all purpose What-ever spray works great for everything. Their claim is that it disinfects instantly and it's safe enough to ingest.

@mrsks: yes! We love that too!
Also use a combo of vinegar, water, baking soda as well as a cleaner with essential oils.

@mrskc: @birdofafeather: I'm totally putting in an order now since they have free shipping over $25... I had no idea they were on Shark Tank!

@mrskc: oh I want to try this!!
@snowjewelz: cant beat free shipping - I just ordered too~!

@Mamaof2: Haha you are fast! I'm still figuring out what I need... I'm getting a kit and adding a few things in since none of the kits have JUST what I wanted. I like that you can buy bulk online too so if I really like these I can just re-order the big refills!

@snowjewelz: I am just starting with the Shark Tank kit - if I like it I will order more

@Mamaof2: I started with the shark tank kit too. The only thing I have reordered so far is the all purpose cleaner and the dish soap. I find the all purpose spray works great for everything (floors, kitchen, bathroom, glass, mirrors, stainless steel). I still haven't used all the floor cleaner and bath scrub. I still can't get away from clorox for the toilet bowl tho. Tho I did just buy a toilet pumice stone that seems to work pretty good.

@mrskc: @snowjewelz: I wasn't even looking for new cleaning products, but read this thread, went to the Better Life website, and was sold! Just ordered some. Thanks!!

White vinegar works on a lot of things. Baking soda is good too. I've used it on furniture for nasty spit up accidents. I haven't found anything that cleans a greasy stove well, but I'll try some of the suggestions here!

@Kbee: Hahaha! I know! Somehow their stuff really just clicked with me and I like their simple explanations and easy to browse sections and the starter kits!
We need to have a thread about how we like this stuff soon!

@snowjewelz: @Kbee: @mrskc: one of the reviews said she was sold when they sprayed the stuff in their mouth on shark tank! whoa!

@Mrs. Pickles: Oo that's a good one! I don't really clean it lol, DH does the self clean once in a while but I'm terrified of it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mamaof2: Yeah so many reviews said that they feel great about letting LOs put stuff right back into their mouths after cleaning, or crawling around soon after mopping!
